(ENG-TUR) JOURNEY TO PRAGUE - PRAG'A YOLCULUK

Today, I want to talk about Prague, one of the unforgettable stops of my last year's trip abroad. It took me a while to put my feelings about this city into words because Prague is a magical place that evokes different emotions in people with every corner. I spent a short but full day in this city and now I want to visit it again with you.

Bugün sizlere geçtiğimiz yılki yurt dışı seyahatimin unutulmaz duraklarından biri olan Prag'dan bahsetmek istiyorum. Bu şehirle ilgili hislerimi kelimelere dökmek biraz zaman aldı çünkü Prag, her köşesiyle insanda farklı duygular uyandıran, büyülü bir yer. Kısa ama dolu dolu bir gün geçirdiğim bu şehri şimdi sizinle tekrar gezmek istiyorum.

Since the hotel we stayed at as part of the tour was in Prague, it was not only a transit point but also a great opportunity to travel and discover. From the moment we stepped into the city, its architecture began to fascinate me. The buildings, which carry history and aesthetics together, change one's perception of time as you walk along the narrow streets.

Tur kapsamında konakladığımız otel, Prag’da olduğu için burası yalnızca bir geçiş noktası değil, aynı zamanda gezip keşfetmek için büyük bir fırsata dönüştü. Şehre adım attığımız ilk an itibarıyla mimarisi beni büyülemeye başladı. Tarihi ve estetiği bir arada taşıyan binalar, dar sokaklarda yürürken insanın zaman algısını değiştiriyor.

We started our trip on Wenceslas Street. It had a city center atmosphere with its liveliness and crowd. Then we headed towards the Old Town Square. As we approached the square, the city came to life even more with the increasing crowd and the sounds of street musicians. The most striking detail was undoubtedly the Astronomical Clock Tower.

Gezimize Vaclav Caddesi’nde başladık. Canlılığı ve kalabalığıyla tam bir şehir merkezi havası vardı. Ardından yönümüzü Old Town Meydanı’na çevirdik. Meydana yaklaştıkça artan kalabalık ve sokak müzisyenlerinin sesleriyle şehir daha da canlandı. En dikkat çeken detay ise hiç şüphesiz Astronomik Saat Kulesi oldu.

Like everyone else, I joined the crowd gathered in front of the tower when the hour struck. According to our guide, this clock is the oldest working astronomical clock in the world. The figures rotating in the small windows of the clock and the melodies playing were truly impressive. The fact that so many people came together to watch this moment made it even more special.

Saat başı çaldığında herkes gibi ben de kulenin önünde toplanan kalabalığa karıştım. Rehberimizin anlattığına göre bu saat, dünyanın en eski çalışan astronomik saatiymiş. Saatin küçük pencerelerinde dönen figürler ve çalan melodiler gerçekten etkileyiciydi. Bu anı izlemek için o kadar çok insanın bir araya gelmesi, o anı daha da özel kıldı.

We continued our exploration of the city by following the footsteps of Franz Kafka. The Kafka Statue and the Franz Kafka Museum showed how deeply this writer had penetrated the city. Even walking on the streets of Prague, it is possible to feel like you have stepped into one of Kafka’s stories.

Şehirdeki keşfimize Franz Kafka’nın izini sürerek devam ettik. Kafka Heykeli ve Franz Kafka Müzesi, bu yazarın şehre ne kadar derin bir şekilde işlemiş olduğunu gösteriyordu. Prag sokaklarında yürürken bile Kafka’nın hikâyelerinden birine adım atmış gibi hissetmek mümkün.

Another remarkable stop was the Freedom Wall built in memory of John Lennon. This wall, full of colorful graffiti, impresses you not only visually but also with the meaning it carries.

Bir başka dikkat çekici durak ise John Lennon’ın anısına yapılmış Özgürlük Duvarı oldu. Renkli grafitilerle dolu bu duvar, sadece görsel olarak değil, taşıdığı anlamla da insanı etkiliyor.

The idea of taking a break was quite appealing amidst the tiredness of touring the city and the cool weather. Upon our guide’s suggestion, we went to a Starbucks branch with a very nice view. Looking down on the city from above with my hot coffee and a small dessert was one of the most enjoyable ways to enjoy Prague.

Şehri gezmenin yorgunluğu ve serin havası arasında, bir mola verme fikri oldukça cazip geldi. Rehberimizin önerisiyle, manzarası oldukça güzel olan bir Starbucks şubesine gittik. Sıcacık kahvem ve küçük bir tatlının eşliğinde şehre tepeden bakmak, Prag’ın tadını çıkarmanın en keyifli yollarından biriydi.

Towards the evening hours, the weather darkened and a light rain began. Seeing the city under the rain gave it a completely different atmosphere. Steps echoing on wet stone streets, the shining surfaces of colorful buildings and people walking under umbrellas… I think Prague’s romantic face emerges at times like these.

Akşam saatlerine doğru hava karardı ve hafif bir yağmur başladı. Şehri yağmur altında görmek, ona bambaşka bir hava kattı. Islak taş sokaklarda yankılanan adımlar, renkli binaların parlayan yüzeyleri ve şemsiyelerin altında yürüyen insanlar… Prag’ın romantik yüzü tam da böyle zamanlarda ortaya çıkıyor bence.

We ended the day at the hotel we were staying at. Unfortunately, I can’t remember the name of the hotel, but I really liked its colorful and modern design. The next morning, after having breakfast, we said goodbye to Prague and set off on a new route.

Günü, kaldığımız otelde sonlandırdık. Otelin ismini ne yazık ki hatırlayamıyorum ama renkli ve modern tasarımı oldukça hoşuma gitmişti. Ertesi sabah ise kahvaltımızı yaptıktan sonra Prag’a veda ederek yeni bir rotaya doğru yola çıktık.

Prague was one of the cities that remained etched in my memory even during this short visit. Maybe one day our paths will cross again for a longer exploration. Who knows?

Prag, kısa süren bu ziyaretimizde bile hafızama kazınan şehirlerden biri oldu. Belki bir gün daha uzun süreli bir keşif için yeniden yollarımız kesişir. Kim bilir?
