[ESP/ENG] Niedzica-Czorsztyn, Poland

Hola a todos! Y para seguirles contando un poco más sobre nuestro viaje por las montañas Pieniny en Polonia, esta vez decidimos regresar un poco y aprovechar nuestro último día para conocer la ciudad de Niedzica que está ubicada a solo un par de minutos en carro desde nuestro lugar de campear, es decir, cerca de la frontera con Eslovaquia. Para esto despertamos muy temprano y como ven el sol estaba bastante radiante, así que antes de dar algún paseo necesitaba comer algo o seguramente no podía aguantar mucho por el embarazo, así que primero decidimos buscar algo para comer.

Hello everyone! And to continue telling you a little more about our trip through the Pieniny mountains in Poland, this time we decided to go back a bit and take advantage of our last day to visit the town of Niedzica which is located just a couple of minutes drive from our camping place, that is, near the border with Slovakia. For this we woke up very early and as you can see the sun was quite radiant, so before going for a walk I needed to eat something or surely I could not hold much because of the pregnancy, so first we decided to look for something to eat.

Nos dimos cuenta que como era domingo, todo estaba cerrado temprano y tampoco teníamos nada para comer o cocinar. El único restaurante abierto temprano es un McDonald’s ubicado a 40 minutos aproximadamente así que pensamos un poco para dejar pasar tiempo y más tarde sin más dudas fuimos allí, pero en el camino pudimos ver que pasamos por Niedzica y habían varias personas pero todavía no muchas, seguramente más tarde llegarían más y yo solo estaba muy emocionada.

We realized that since it was Sunday, everything was closed early and we had nothing to eat or cook either. The only restaurant open early is a McDonald's located about 40 minutes away so we thought a bit to let some time pass and later without further hesitation we went there, but on the way we could see that we passed by Niedzica and there were several people but not many yet, surely later more would arrive and I was just very excited.

Después de tomar mi respectivo café con leche, dos panes con queso y champiñones y además unas papas fritas, finalmente tenía energía para poder caminar, así que seguidamente regresamos otra vez hasta la ciudad, y para dar el paseo allí primero necesitabamos encontrar un parqueadero y conseguimos uno cerca de un parque en el que pagamos 20 zlotys o 5 dólares por todo el día, así que ya estabamos listos para empezar nuestro recorrido.

After drinking my respective coffee with milk, two breads with cheese and mushrooms and some french fries, I finally had the energy to walk, so we went back to the city again, and to walk there we first needed to find a parking lot and we got one near a park where we paid 20 zlotys or 5 dollars for the whole day, so we were ready to start our tour.

Caminamos un poco desde el parqueadero o el parque y lo primero que encontramos fue la presa de agua y también la central hidroeléctrica, además aquí hay un mirador espectacular hacia el hermoso lago y además podíamos ver a lo lejos el gran Castillo de Niedzica o Castillo de Dunajec. Eran las 11 am y aunque algunas cosas (como el parque) todavía estaban cerradas, la verdad es que ya habían varias personas allí conociendo como nosotros. Luego de un par de fotos, Pawel y yo seguimos nuestro camino.

We walked a bit from the parking lot or park and the first thing we found was the water dam and also the hydroelectric plant, also here there is a spectacular viewpoint towards the beautiful lake and we could also see in the distance the great Niedzica Castle or Dunajec Castle. It was 11 am and although some things (like the park) were still closed, the truth is that there were already several people there meeting as we were. After a couple of photos, Pawel and I went on our way.

Mientras nos acercabamos al castillo, vimos algunas tiendas con helados, peluches muy divertidos para los niños y además muchos hermosos souvenirs, otras tiendas aún seguían cerradas o apenas estaban abriendo. Más tarde vimos la taquilla para comprar los boletos para entrar al castillo pero había una fila muy larga de personas y la verdad es que aunque tenía muchas ganas de entrar al castillo decidimos no hacerlo porque no estaba muy dispuesta para hacer esa grande fila embarazada.

As we approached the castle, we saw some stores with ice cream, fun stuffed animals for the kids and many beautiful souvenirs, other stores were still closed or just opening. Later we saw the ticket office to buy tickets to enter the castle but there was a very long line of people and the truth is that although I really wanted to enter the castle we decided not to do it because I was not very willing to make that big pregnant line.

Caminamos un poco más y vimos otra taquilla para comprar boletos para dar un paseo en barco y cruzar hasta el pueblo llamado Czorsztyn pero Pawel y yo estabamos un poco indecisos sobre lo que queríamos hacer, así que mientras pensabamos qué hacer decidimos conocer un poco más aquí, hacer un par de fotos y además tomar algo pues estaba haciendo bastante calor.

We walked a bit more and saw another ticket office to buy tickets for a boat ride across to the town called Czorsztyn but Pawel and I were a bit undecided about what we wanted to do, so while we were thinking about what to do we decided to get to know a bit more here, take a couple of pictures and have a drink as it was getting quite hot.

Y sí, vimos una pequeña playa allí donde habían muchas personas y aunque tenía muchas ganas de bañarme, olvidamos traer nuestros trajes de baño, pero también por la cantidad de personas se nos quitaron un poco las ganas. Por lo que ví, en esta playa puedes alquilar algunas tumbonas o sillas y además paraguas. Pawel y yo solo decidimos ir al restaurante que está en la entrada para descansar un rato y tomar una cerveza y un jugo natural de pura naranja que estaba delicioso, por esto pagamos 22 zlotys o un poco más de 5 dólares.

And yes, we saw a small beach there where there were many people and although I really wanted to swim, we forgot to bring our bathing suits, but also because of the amount of people we were a little bit discouraged. From what I saw, on this beach you can rent some loungers or chairs and also umbrellas. Pawel and I just decided to go to the restaurant at the entrance to rest for a while and have a beer and a natural pure orange juice that was delicious, for this we paid 22 zlotys or a little more than 5 dollars.

Finalmente decidimos si dar el paseo en barco hasta el pueblo Czorsztyn, así que fuimos a comprar los boletos y nos dimos cuenta que podíamos elegir entre dos embarcaciones, uno pequeño con techo y otro más grande por el mismo precio. Pawel me dejó decidir cuál quería y la verdad es que elegí el barco grande porque podía estar en la parte de arriba que es abierta y hacer geniales fotos desde allí (aunque estaba el sol fuerte aún, pero está bien, sería poco tiempo). Por los boletos pagamos 24 zlotys cada uno, es decir, aproximadamente 6 dólares (estos incluían el regreso).

Finally we decided whether to take the boat ride to Czorsztyn village, so we went to buy the tickets and found out that we could choose between two boats, a small one with a roof and a bigger one for the same price. Pawel let me decide which one I wanted and the truth is that I chose the big boat because I could be on the top part which is open and take great pictures from there (although the sun was still strong, but that's ok, it would be a short time). For the tickets we paid 24 zlotys each, that is about 6 dollars (these included the return).

Tuvimos que esperar unos 15 minutos aproximadamente mientras el barco volvía, pero estuvimos sentados en unas bancas cerca del puerto esperando. Finalmente llegó el barco y esperamos que los pasajeros que venían se bajaran primero para poder entrar nosotros, finalmente lo hicimos y cuando estabamos todos listos salimos hacia Czorsztyn. Algunas personas viajaban con sus bicicletas también, así que también tienen puesto en el barco para estas.

We had to wait for about 15 minutes while the ship returned, but we sat on benches near the port waiting. Finally the ship arrived and we waited for the incoming passengers to get off first so we could get on, finally we did and when we were all ready we left for Czorsztyn. Some people were traveling with their bicycles too, so they also have a place on the ship for these.

En el barco ibamos varias personas, el paseo solo tardó un par de minutos (tal vez menos de 20), y mientras estabamos allí podíamos ver el castillo de Niedzica y también el castillo de Czorsztyn. Finalmente llegamos a Czorsztyn , y nos bajamos, como ven la parte de abajo del barco también tiene una vista genial, y llegó la hora de conocer este otro hermoso pueblo, donde primero vimos un par de tiendas y aprovechamos para comprar un agua fría antes de seguir.

In the boat we were several people, the ride only took a couple of minutes (maybe less than 20), and while we were there we could see the castle of Niedzica and also the castle of Czorsztyn. Finally we arrived to Czorsztyn, and we got off, as you can see the bottom of the boat also has a great view, and it was time to visit this other beautiful town, where we first saw a couple of stores and took the opportunity to buy a cold water before continuing.

Luego vimos una entrada muy linda y más adelante la venta de otros souvenirs y también unos grandes peluches de patos, por ahora Pawel y yo decidimos no comprar nada, y caminamos para conocer un poco más y así tal vez llegar hasta el castillo y conocerlo. Como ven habían algunas señales y varias personas andando en bicicleta.

Then we saw a very nice entrance and further on we saw the sale of other souvenirs and also some big duck stuffed animals, for now Pawel and I decided not to buy anything, and we walked to get to know a little more and maybe get to know the castle and get to know it. As you can see there were some signs and several people riding bicycles.

Otra vez no pudimos conocer este otro castillo y debo aceptar que esta vez fue por mí, ya que para llegar hasta el castillo teníamos que subir un camino que creo era de tierra y un poco inclinado también, así que me daba un poco de miedo además que también estaba cansada, entonces Pawel y yo solo decidimos sentarnos un poco cerca de allí con vista al lago para refrescarnos un poco mientras el barco volvía para regresar a Niedzica de nuevo.

Again we didn't get to see this other castle and I must accept that this time it was because of me, because to get to the castle we had to climb a road that I think was dirt and a bit steep too, so I was a bit scared plus I was also tired, so Pawel and I just decided to sit a bit close by overlooking the lake to cool off a bit while the ship was returning to go back to Niedzica again.

Desde donde estabamos sentados podíamos ver el barco acercarse, así que una vez lo vimos, fuimos de nuevo para tomarlo y regresar. Esta vez, Pawel y yo tomamos de nuevo asientos arriba y cerca de la escalera donde había una bandera de Polonia. Finalmente volvimos, y de regreso vimos la playa en la que estuvimos anteriormente. Ahora estabamos en Niedzica, y decidimos que era la hora de volver para descansar un rato porque sin duda estabamos muy cansados, y más por el fuerte sol que había que sin duda nos hizo broncear un poco.

From where we were sitting we could see the ship approaching, so once we saw it, we went again to catch it and return. This time, Pawel and I again took seats upstairs and near the stairs where there was a Polish flag. Finally we went back, and on the way back we saw the beach we were on earlier. Now we were in Niedzica, and we decided it was time to go back to rest for a while because we were certainly very tired, and more so because of the strong sun that was there which certainly made us get a little tan.

Así que fuimos camino al parqueadero, y de regreso podíamos ver más ventas abiertas de dulces y quesos, además algunos restaurantes, pero Pawel y yo decidimos comer más tarde cerca de nuestro lugar de campear porque además habían muchas personas en los restaurantes esperando. Sin duda la pasamos genial por estos dos hermosos lugares en Polonia, espero que les haya gustado tanto como a mí. Nos vemos en un proximo post. Saludos!

So we went on our way to the parking lot, and on the way back we could see more open sales of sweets and cheeses, also some restaurants, but Pawel and I decided to eat later near our camping place because there were also many people in the restaurants waiting for us.
