Hola a todos! otro lugar increíble que conocimos en Bangkok (Tailandia) fue el famoso Chinatown o Yaowarat Road y debo decir que sin duda alguna es un lugar que no puedes dejar de visitar si vas a Bangkok, especialmente si quieres experimentar la comida callejera y por supuesto también la cultura local pues aquí vas a encontrar mucho de ambas, y de seguro te va a encantar, y es que es un lugar muy colorido y con un ambiente genial.

Hello, everyone! Another incredible place we visited in Bangkok (Thailand) was the famous Chinatown, or Yaowarat Road, and I have to say that it’s definitely a must-see if you’re going to Bangkok—especially if you want to experience street food and, of course, the local culture, since you’ll find plenty of both here. You’re sure to love it, because it’s a very colorful place with a great atmosphere.

Nosotros llegamos hasta el Chinatown en uber, pero mucha gente va allí en los famosos tuk-tuk para explorar el lugar, nosotros preferimos caminar, aunque debo decir que es un lugar lleno de gente, pero es parte de la aventura jajaja. Como ven en las fotos abajo, lo primero que hicimos al bajarnos del uber fue hacernos fotos, pues con los carteles neón detrás me sentía caminando en una película asiática y es que algo que amaba de este lugar es la hermosa decoración estilo china y lo muy iluminado que estaba.

We took an Uber to Chinatown, but a lot of people go there in the famous tuk-tuks to explore the area. We preferred to walk, though I have to say it’s a crowded place—but that’s part of the adventure, haha. As you can see in the photos below, the first thing we did when we got out of the Uber was take pictures. With the neon signs in the background, I felt like I was walking through an Asian movie. One thing I loved about this place was the beautiful Chinese-style decor and how brightly lit it was.

Y no solo luces y carteles neón encuentras allí, como dije antes es un lugar lleno de puestos de comida callejera, muchas tiendas y sitios de masajes, nosotros solo fuímos a pasear y conocer el lugar pues ni mi esposo ni yo somos amantes de la comida tailandesa y siendo sinceros andando con un niño pequeño nos daba miedo probar comida callejera, pero te digo que allí puedes encontrar platos tailedenses, mariscos, insectos, postres tradicionales y hasta la famosa fruta que huele muy mal, sí el durián, entre otros.

And it’s not just lights and neon signs you’ll find there; as I said before, it’s a place full of street food stalls, lots of shops, and massage parlors. We just went for a walk to check out the place, since neither my husband nor I are big fans of Thai food, and to be honest, walking around with a small child made us nervous about trying street food. But I’ll tell you that there you can find Thai dishes, seafood, insects, traditional desserts, and even that famous fruit that smells really bad—yes, durian—among other things.

Algo que recomiendo al ir allí, es ir con zapatos y ropa cómoda, pues con el calor de Tailandia y con lo mucho que hay para ver y caminar es lo mejor, también sin duda alguna, allí vas a hacer muchas fotos, por lo que pienso que ir de noche es genial y no olvides tu cámara. Nosotros amamos caminar por sus calles, pues es un lugar lleno de energía, luces y parece que comida muy deliciosa aunque como les dije antes no la probamos y es que aunque sea un lugar lleno de gente, tiene su propio encanto y la amabilidad de la gente Tailandesa le da un plus al lugar.

One thing I recommend when you go there is to wear comfortable shoes and clothes, because with Thailand’s heat and all there is to see and walk around, it’s the best option. You’ll definitely take a lot of photos there, so I think going at night is great—and don’t forget your camera. We love walking through its streets, as it’s a place full of energy and lights, and the food looks absolutely delicious—though, as I mentioned earlier, we didn’t try it. Even though it’s a crowded place, it has its own charm, and the friendliness of the Thai people really adds to the experience.

Después de recorrer el Chinatown, hicimos la respectiva parada en un 7-Eleven para comprar una bebida refrescante jajaja (una cerveza) y es que en Tailandia hace bastante calor y cuando digo bastante lo digo en serio, nosotros no tardamos mucho tiempo allí pero es que con niños pequeños pienso que es un poco difícil por la gran cantidad de gente caminando por allí, el calor y los carros pasando también, aún así la pasamos genial y volvería a ir a este lugar, amaba sus callejones, el ambiente animado, las luces, me encanta que tenían variedad de comida (que vería con más calma cuando vuelva para probar algo allí), y hasta nuestra última parada allí tomando la cerveza para refrescarnos y relajarnos mientras de fondo teníamos una vista muy asiática pienso que todo fue maravilloso por lo que es un lugar que recomiendo conocer si van a Bangkok pues estoy segura que les va a encantar tanto como a nosotros.

After walking around Chinatown, we stopped at a 7-Eleven to grab a refreshing drink, haha (a beer)—because it gets really hot in Thailand, and when I say really hot, I mean it. We didn’t stay there very long, but with small children, I think it’s a bit difficult because of the huge crowds walking around, the heat, and the cars driving by. Even so, we had a great time and I’d go back to this place—I loved its alleys, the lively atmosphere, the lights, I love that they had a variety of food (which I’d take my time checking out when I return to try something there), and even our last stop there, having a beer to cool off and relax while enjoying a very Asian view in the background—I think everything was wonderful, so it’s a place I recommend visiting if you go to Bangkok, because I’m sure you’ll love it just as much as we did.
