Discovering the Heart of President Quirino, Philippines: A Simple Town Filled with Wonder

Yesterday felt like a small window opening toward the gentle heart of our hometown, the municipality of President Quirino in Sultan Kudarat. My daughter had a tour inside our municipal hall because one of the booths from the Global Village was displayed there, the famous Dragon Booth. Children loved of instantly. Its colors, size and charm made it feel like a playful creature resting on the hall. They could take pictures, climb in and enjoy a moment of pure fantasy. Seeing her eyes widen felt like she was in international tour.

While she enjoyed the booth, I took a moment to appreciate the beauty of our municipal hall, simple, yes but full of character. It sits like a calm center of our town, where everything is close, familiar and easy to navigate. The flag pole symbolizes the 14 barangay under the Municipality of President Quirino, Sultan kudarat.

At the entrance, our friendly guards greet visitors with warmth that feels almost like an invitation to step into a community rather than just a building inside the compound, all essential departments are gathered in one area, the health unit, police station, fire station, DSWD, and several local offices. Also, the Elementary school, National Highschool are in beside only. This setup makes everything accessible, especially for residents who just want things done quickly without wandering too far. Convenience here is not a luxury, it’s a daily blessing.

In front of the municipal hall is the public market, everything is close by, you can easily walk around, buying needs and simple enjoy the surroundings.

The first thing that welcomes you as you enter the gate is the President Quirino monument – standing proud, steady and full of historical presence. Nearby, you will also find the “I love PQ”spot, perfect for taking pictures. There are benches too, for anyone waiting resting or simple watching people come and go.

Our place may look simply, but the people here carry a quiet competitive spirit. They give their best in community events, festivals and activities. There’s always a little spark of pride in every project, every decoration, every celebration.

Our town may appear simple but it carries a unique strength: President Quirino as the Sugar Capital of Sultan Kudarat. Sugarcane fields stretch across our lands, fueling livelihoods and shaping our identity. This agricultural gift is one of the reasons our community thrives with pride and determination. Rice fields are 25% of the area of our municipality, sugarcane and palm oil.

In the end, President Quirino may be a small town, but it’s a town with a gentle charm. And people who never fail to rise to the occasion. And yesterday’s visit reminded me why I love calling this place home.

Thank you for reading my story and supporting me in many ways. I warmly invite you to visit the Municipality of President Quirino in Sultan Kudarat, a charming town known as the capital for sugar. Our friendly people and easy access to all public services, it’s a perfect place to explore and experience local culture. ❤️
