Visiting A Historical Place, Small Abandoned Village Areas in Paniangan, Manticao Misamis Oriental Mindanao Philippines

Far from urbaned place here in Municipality of Manticao in the Province of Misamis Oriental is the place where past native people lived. A place where old civilization takes place away from crowded streets and houses. For some people who knows about this place, they called it kabolo-bolohan a kind of native name of the place here in Bandera. Mountain ranges surrounds here in this areas and only few plain place can be seen and found here and most of the areas are slope. Municipality of Manticao contains lots of big and majestic mountains and some of it are already explored by Nature lovers and travelers. But there are still few places that still not yet explored but open to everyone who wants to visit here. If we start traveling from Barangay Poblacion particularly in Manticao Public Market, we need to travel for almost half an hour riding on different kinds of passenger vehicles like Motorcycles, tricycles with a travel fair cost up to 25 Pesos each passenger.

From the Barangay Road connected to the Provincial road, it needs to cross the river and headed or passing here in this sandy road trail. Motorcycle can be abled to pass in here but very difficult because of the sandy particles at the river. Residents made this simple road trail so everyone will have a short cut heading to the Barangay road. This curvy sandy road trail leads to the mountain where abandoned place where native live can be found. Walking here going to the mountain slope takes almost an hour but the road trail is not really in intense heat because of the shade brought by big tree branches and coconut trees.

If we reach at the top of the place, we can see this few kinds of trees like Germilina, Mahogany, Molave and Atipolo trees. Wild animals like birds can be seen and found here and a quite and relaxing place can be experienced here. There are also few agricultural plants like Bananas, coconuts and pineapples. In the low lying areas are wide and plain land where hundreds of coconut trees and bananas planted. From the top of the place contains lots of overlooking views from the other side of the mountain.

Those neighboring mountains is also located at the same Municipality but it is the other Barangay. The mountain ranges helps the place below to become safe from strong winds brought by the winds. Mountains are covered with lots of trees and some agricultural plants planted at the top of the Mountain. Few houses are built also but it is far from one another.

For centuries ago, there are lots of change happens here including the place. This place here was once an open field where Native people built their houses here in this area. The once an open areas are now completely turned into a bushy site where lots of wild grass and small trees grows. This is the only two plain and open place here that is why 8 small native houses was built here many years has already past.

This big pieces of rocks is the marker of the houses built here. Native people used this as a worship areas placing lots of fruits, crops and meat from wild animals they hunt as an offer. Those mark lines curved at the stone surface was served as a decorations and it brings a story about the place during old civilization. This area here is only a small portion of open field site but full of historical stories hidden in this area. If Some of the tourists and visitors loves historical place, this land here is fit for it.
