THE SMALL AND CHARMING VILLAGE OF SIOCON AND ITS BEAUTIFUL LANDSCAPES OF MANGROVES.
Hi, lovely people of Hive. In this blog, I am sharing our lovely and simple family road trip to the local, small and charming village of Barangay Siocon which ended with - 'us seeing some beautiful sights and having a fun time in the unique Mangrove landscapes of Siocon!
Initially, my husband and I planned to have some road trips bound for Cebu City, however, our babysitter was absent. Instead of canceling the plans, we made some changes and brought our baby with us to a place new to her eyes yet not so far from home. Okay, enough of the talking. Here is our wonderful escapade!
To Siocon we Go!
THE SMALL AND CHARMING BARANGAY OF SIOCON
Siocon is one of the Barangay of Bogo City that is situated on its coastline. The barangay is 6km away from Bogo and is accessible by any type of vehicle. Though there is nothing fancy about this small village its peaceful people and its clean and pristine sea with its impressive landscape of Mangrove Trees are more than enough of a reason to explore this silent village.
Let's hit the road!
We used our Rover, (Char!😄) and our jeepney rather, to reach the place. The last time I stopped by this village (from a road trip) was eight years ago and was also the time that I was simply stunned by its beach. Well, it didn't beat the famous and beautiful beaches of San Remegio (Northern Cebu) but Siocon has its unique feature "Not just the Beach" that is worth the escapade.
The Kettle-House
Heading to Siocon, the first attraction that we met along the way was the unusual design and shape of the house that looks like a Kettle. I already saw this design the first time I came here and I regret that I didn't take any photos of it before.
Now, the house is safeguarded with a tall fence. I noticed that there was construction going on which lead me to wonder if the house has a new owner or if it's just renovated considering it has been 8 years since I last saw this eye-catching house. Mhm. What do you think?
The Solo Hut in the field
I don't know but I found this landscape of Bamboo hut with lush trees behind it beautiful. It screams peace and simplicity. I felt the solitude by simply looking at it.
I wonder, what is the hut for? I'd like to know what's behind those trees. I looked closely and realized that those trees are Mangrove Trees, which only means we are near Siocon's seashore!
And yes we are!
SIOCON'S BEACH AND MANGROVES!
We hadn't properly parked yet our vehicle but my daughter was already screaming and jumping with joy upon seeing the Sea! So we didn't prolong her excitement, we brought her to the seashore and let her wander around! Perfect it's low tide and the sand grains are fine and safe!
From the shore, we could see that the Mangroves are clean. Naturally, the grounds of the Mangrove trees are crowded and tangled because of their roots and other seaweeds, but this Mangroves of Siocon is impressively clean!
It's very safe for children to walk and this is not common. I also enjoyed strolling around the Mangroves. This is my first time walking through it: safe, clean, and odor free.
We reached this part of the Mangrove that looks like an entrance, welcoming us to the majestic sea. We saw two kids enjoying their time, playing and swimming in the sea. I know my daughter would love to play too but we didn't allow her coz we didn't bring her swimming clothes.
What a beautiful sight to look at! The peaceful sea, the blue skies, and the kids having their best time!
While we keep on walking, I saw this log on the ground. I think this is an old Mangrove Tree, My daughter wanted to climb on it but I didn't allow her because it looked rough and hazardous. Nevertheless, the log looked beautiful on the ground.
If you look closely, it seems there are pathways under the Mangroves. The pathways are clean which led us either to a place where there is a boat being docked just like the one below or to an exit to the open sea
I am amazed at how clean the Mangrove Forest is in Siocon and how the locals maintained its cleanliness. My baby was amazed too moreover, she was more amazed by the boats she saw! (Like mother, like daughter!)
And of course, this fun adventure on the seashore of Siocon wouldn't be complete without me taking photos of my favorite photography subject in the sea, the boats!
All the boats docked on the seashore, highlighting the yellow one. How I wish I could take pictures of them all. Hehe! They are so beautiful to look at!
A bamboo raft instead of a boat, at first I thought! Partly yes, but this bamboo serves as the platform for the boat to dock.
And the winner is . . . What do you think, the one below? or the one up?
One last look at this beautiful shore, before we head back to the coast.
This little adventure of ours may very simple but I could see in my daughter's eyes that she enjoyed it so much. Her eyes were sparkling with joy while looking at and watching all the things that we passed by.
We had so much fun and excitement during our whole adventure. How I love to always have moments like this, a moment that always feels like home!
That's it guys for our escapade in the charming village and beautiful seashore of Siocon. Thank you for reading! I hope you enjoyed it. Keep safe.
