My visit to the matica sector on a sunny day that ended with rain (Eng - Esp)
Hello traveler friends, it is a pleasure to greet you, wishing you have a nice day, I am happy to share my visit to a beautiful sector of the city of Cumana known as “la matica”, this is located on the national road Cumana - Carupano, very close to the spillway of the penon and the san Pedro shopping center in the trocal 9, from the main road you only observe the hill in the background and abundant vegetation, after a long road you arrive to this sector of the city that stands out for the beautiful view of the landscape, on several occasions I have passed by the road and I liked the view of the mountain, my curiosity every time I passed that way invited me and encouraged me to know this sector, I asked my friend to accompany me, because for several months I wanted to visit this place, but for various reasons it had not been possible.
The friend who would accompany me was very busy with her son, my son's school activities and the arrival of the rains interfered and prolonged our visit to the sector la matica, another friend lives there and we had pending her invitation, on the ground has a nice and refreshing pool in a lovely natural environment, we agreed on the day of the visit and in the afternoon we headed towards this sector, Although the weather seemed favorable and perfect for an afternoon of hiking in the mountains and a refreshing swim in the pool, a few minutes after arriving the rain began, our plan was to stay several hours, take a walk to the hill and finally a bath, the arrival of the rain completely changed the plans and we ended up taking a delicious hot chocolate with sweet bread until the rain stopped.
Hola amigos viajeros, es un placer saludarles, deseando que tengan un lindo día, me siento feliz de compartir mi visita a un hermoso sector de la ciudad de Cumaná conocido como "la matica", este se ubica en la carretera nacional Cumaná - Carúpano, muy cerca del aliviadero del penón y el centro comercial san Pedro en la trocal 9, desde la carretera principal solo observas el cerro al fondo y abundante vegetación, al pasar por un largo camino llegas a este sector de la ciudad que destaca por la hermosa vista del paisaje, en reiteradas ocasiones he pasado por la carretera y me gustó la vista de la montaña, mi curiosidad cada vez que pasaba por esa vía me invitaba y animaba a conocer este sector, le pedí a mi amiga que me acompañara, pues hacia varios meses que quería visitar este lugar, pero por diversos motivos no había sido posible.
La amiga que me acompañaría estaba muy ocupada con su hijo, las actividades escolares de mi hijo y la llegada de las lluvias interfirieron y prolongaron nuestra visita al sector la matica, allí vive otra amiga y teníamos pendiente su invitación, en el terreno tiene una linda y refrescante piscina en un encantador entorno natural, acordamos el día de la visita y en horas de la tarde nos dirigimos hacia este sector, aunque el tiempo parecía favorable y perfecto para una tarde de excursión en la montaña y un refescante baño en la piscina, a los pocos minutos de haber llegado inició la lluvia, nuestro plan era quedarnos varias horas, hacer una caminata hasta el cerro y finalmente un baño, la llegada de la lluvia cambió totalmente los planes y terminamos tomando un delicioso chocolate caliente con pan dulce hasta que cesó la lluvia.
To get to this part of the city, you can use public transportation or private car, from the center there are several bus routes to this area, those that go to the Villa, El Peñón, the populations of Marigüitar, San Antonio, even Carúpano; passing through the distributor Antonio José de Sucre follows the spillway, in front of the San Pedro shopping center and a few meters away the main entrance to the sector la matica, it is a dirt road with a variety of plants, for my visit I took a transport in the center and in approximately 25 minutes I was already at the stop where I had agreed to meet my friend.
From there we headed to Rosa's house, we thought it was going to be a sunny and cool day to do the activities we had planned, but not all things always turn out the way we want and this day was one of those, but looking at the positive side it turned out much better than planned and we ended up with a pleasant conversation accompanied by chocolate and bread, when the rain ended I went to the back of the house and took several pictures of the landscape, It is worth saying that it is beautiful and I liked the view of the mountain, although we could not take the walk and swim in the pool it was very nice to talk with the pleasant sound of the rain and the smell of wet earth which I love and takes me back to my childhood, when I played with my sisters in the rain, Rosa comments that in the afternoon the breeze is fresh and in most cases very cold to the point that she has to wrap up warm to be in the patio.
Para llegar a esta parte de la ciudad, puedes usar transporte público o auto particular, desde el centro salen varias rutas de autobuses para esta zona, las que se dirigen hacia la Villa, el Peñón, las poblaciones de Marigüitar, San Antonio, incluso Carúpano; al pasar por el distribuidor Antonio José de Sucre sigue el aliviadero, al frente el centro comercial San Pedro y a pocos metros la entrada principal al sector la matica, es un camino de tierra con una gran variedad de plantas, para mi visita tomé un transporte en el centro y aproximadamente en 25 minutos ya estaba en la parada donde había acordado reunirme con mi amiga.
Desde allí nos dirigimos a la casa de Rosa, creíamos que iba a ser un día soleado y fresco para realizar las actividades que teníamos planificadas, pero no todas las cosas resultan siempre como las queremos y este día fue uno de esos, pero viendo el lado positivo resultó mucho mejor de lo planeado y terminamos con una amena conversación acompañada de chocolate y pan, al terminar la lluvia me dirigí hacia el fondo de la casa y aproveché para tomar varias fotos del paisaje, valga decir que es hermoso y me gustó la vista de la montaña, aunque no pudimos hacer la caminata y bañarnos en la piscina fue muy lindo conversar con el agradable sonido de la lluvia y el olor a tierra húmeda que me encanta y me transporta a la infancia, cuando jugaba con mis hermanas bajo la lluvia, Rosa comenta que en horas de la tarde la brisa es fresca y en la mayoría de los casos muy fría a tal punto que tiene que abrigarse para estar en el patio.
The view of the hill and the landscape in general is very nice, although the ground was wet from the rain, I tried to get as close as I could to take pictures of the hill, behind it you can see the mountain covered with vegetation and several bushes on the ground, is that kind of places that I love to hike and enjoy the contact with nature, I hope in the near future to return again to this sector and be able to make the hike, climb up to the mountain and see the city from there, my friend told us that at that point you can appreciate a beautiful view of the city, the beaches and several sectors located near the coastal mountain range, where the highway leading to Puerto la Cruz is located.
La vista del cerro y el paisaje en general es muy bonita, aunque el suelo estaba mojado por la lluvia, intenté acercarme lo más que pude para tomar fotos del cerro, detrás de él se aprecia la montaña cubierta de vegetación y varios arbustos en el terreno, es ese tipo de lugares que me encantan para hacer caminatas y disfrutar el contacto con la naturaleza, espero en un futuro cercano volver nuevamente a este sector y poder hacer la caminata, subir hasta la montaña y ver la ciudad desde allí, mi amiga nos dijo que en ese punto se aprecia una hermosa vista de la ciudad, las playas y varios sectores ubicados cerca de la cordillera de la costa, donde se ubica la autopista que conduce a Puerto la Cruz.
