A beach with dreamy promenades πŸ“· Malaga - Spain

There are fourteen beaches in the city, each one different from the other in various ways. In this case, what I found wonderful were the extraordinary promenades along Misericordia beach.

A while ago here on Hive, I mentioned that the city had many beaches, and someone commented that they hoped to see them all. Of course, it will take me a while to visit them all from east to west or vice versa, but I will do so little by little.

Misericordia Beach is the beach that continues on from San AndrΓ©s, which is the first beach west of the port. All of them are very long and have their own characteristics, each one has something that stands out from the others, sometimes imperceptibly and sometimes very noticeably.

As soon as I arrived at this beach, I noticed the difference between it and the others. I started the tour from the end of the beach, heading towards San AndrΓ©s beach.

I quickly realised that more than the beach itself, what makes this place stand out is the number of paths you can walk along, with different levels between them. There is even an exclusive bike path, which I did not see on the city's most touristy beach, La Malagueta.

I could see a lower path closer to the sand and therefore to the beach, then some stairs that led me to another path with benches and pergolas. Then another path exclusively for bicycles and finally another one full of palm trees, a wide path where the scenery varies along with playgrounds, another difference I found compared to the other beaches. This wide promenade is called the Antonio Banderas promenade.

Of course, like the other beaches, they have their characteristic beach bars where the famous espeto (skewered fish) and fried fish are served. Normally, many of them close during the winter, but as the summer season approaches and the tourists arrive, they reopen their doors.

There were playgrounds both on the sand and in the green areas, some of which had more shade than others, but you can always find a place where you feel comfortable.

Another new feature I found here is the water park, a very picturesque place where children and adults can enjoy a space where water is the star of the show in various games and there are large jets of water everywhere.

It is very relaxing to walk around these places looking out at the sea, the palm trees, the streetlights and the different areas. It is a very busy beach, but mainly for families, although the water park is classified as a tourist attraction.

20250528_212802.jpg

20250528_212907.jpg

In addition, this place has various access points along the entire route, including both stairs and ramps. This makes it a place for everyone, and in the shaded areas you can also find families or friends having picnics.

When I walk along a beach, I am always struck by the deep blue colour of the sky and how the palm trees stand out against that blue, as do the white buildings.

During my walk, I took a break to prepare the typical Argentine mate, this time with coffee, which is also delicious, and it is a great place to enjoy it while looking at the sea, the vegetation and the children playing.

Then I walked along the wider promenade, enjoying the views around me, the ever-present trees, the sky, the sea in the distance and lots of sun that gives life and strength.

It has been a spectacular walk, getting to know the entire length of La Misericordia beach, which is very beautiful indeed and very enjoyable.

Thank you all very much for accompanying me on this exploration. I send my warmest regards to everyone. See you soon.

What a beautiful waterfront this beach has! I love all the buildings and the beautiful walkways. The large palm trees give it a very special touch.

I have no doubt you'll visit all 14 beaches and, little by little, you'll introduce us to them.

Beautiful shots, dear friend @avdesing; it's great that you brought the mate.

Have a beautiful day.

Always bring your mate! People stare, but there are many Argentinians here. Thank you very much!

Hi @avdesing, but what time do you go to a beach in Malaga so that there is not a soul? My question left here, I'll tell you before I tell you something about the ride that I loved that photo of the mate a conttraluz. That photo is a marvel.

I also want to express my doubt about the number of beaches in Malaga, for an infinite city, without limits, 14 beaches seem to me few.

And about the walk, I love the walks on the beach without people. Although this is more of a walk than a stroll, I'm tired of walking so much.

Muchas thanks for sharing this visit. a big hug.

I go when there are fewer people, especially if I'm taking photos. I go at a time when there aren't many people around... early in the morning, because by 4 or 5 o'clock there are too many people.

That photo... I loved it, it has a story behind it. There are 14 of them, but they're endless, super long... these days I've been walking like never before...jajaja

Anyway, everyone suffers as he pleases, I have told you not to walk or fly.... Even if you look up, people don't... and if there is no one there, the better to fly... and you already left me with the intrigue of the photo...

But if I fly, they'll call me a witch, and you know what happens then: they'll send me to the stake, ha ha ha.

That photograph was originally for my friend in Argentina... I was just chatting with her on the promenade.

That beach is absolutely stunning! It has plenty of amenities, including a bike lane, playground, and concrete pathways. It’s also clean, and the way it’s been developed and landscaped is impressive. There are palm trees, which happen to be my favorite type of tree. Plus, there are unique lamps and benches where people can sit and relax.

To be honest, I am surprised to see the beaches like this. It is one of the things that always catches my attention the most. Thank you very much.

It's nice that there is also a waterpark and bike paths near the beach. Sometimes we just want to go to the beach but not really for swimming, so one can just walk along the paths while enjoying the beautiful and relaxing surroundings. Perhaps most beaches don't have those amazing features that Misericordia Beach offers.

Actually, that day I just wanted to go for a walk and look at the sea, but discovering that place was amazing. Thank you!

My body and mind need a beach, but not just any beach, a beach like this one, clean, full of vegetation, blue waters and a good mate πŸ¦‰β€οΈ

La Misericordia beach is a great place to go with especially with your family. It's a place where both adults and children can totally enjoy. The beach offers a lot of things: a park where you can walk and see the amazing view, go biking, a playground for kids if they get bored and want to play for a little bit, and so much more. How I wish we have the same place like that over here where I live. πŸ™‚

That's such a nice beach. I've been missing them for a while now as I've been in cities far from the coast or in countries that are landlocked. But at the same time I remember how the beaches of Barcelona were, the sheer chaos of them during tourist season!

The best beaches tend to be the ones where you feel like it's pretty much just you and the end of the world ;^)

You're absolutely right, when the beach is deserted, I really enjoy it, just for myself. Thank you!

The wide spacious boardwalk reminds me of the beach in Valencia. I like how there doesn't seem to be too many people around, perfect for finding a quiet, peaceful corner to sit and enjoy mate. :)
