A visit to Llandudno South Africa
In all my visits to Cape Town on the West Coast of South Africa, I've never been to Llandudno.
Well!...In June this year when we were there visiting my daughter in Melkbosstrand, I made it a priority to go on a little excursion to this beautiful seaside suburb of Cape Town, which lies on the Atlantic Seaboard of the Cape Peninsula.
It was about a two hour drive from where we were staying, and worth every minute of the trip.
I thought I might take you along on my journey and share this awesome part of my beautiful country with you.
Llandudno has one of the most beautiful beaches in South Africa and is popular amongst the surfing community, swimming can also be quite treacherous at times because of the rough seas and extremely cold waters.
Information signs were everywhere to be seen on our way along the path.
The view over looking the beach was very inviting, we chose to walk along the road leading to a paved pathway.
I was quite curious to see what lay beyond the light at the end of the pathway.
Who knows where it'll lead...come along, lets see where it will take us.
Wow!...what a sight...the indigenous succulent plants clinging to the granite rocks
with their bright white and green array reaching out to welcome us.
One of the famous sights, is the rocky caves in the area, like the one in the photo over looking the Atlantic Ocean.
The two rocks resting on the shore, look like faces basking in the sun.
The houses at the foot of the mountain in the distance over looking the sea, what a magnificent view they must have. (lucky buggers).
Me trying to get my best shot before my battery died, it was cold and windy that day unfortunately, but... that wasn't going to stop me.
What is that? a monster swimming by or a rock?
Omg...before my imagination runs amok Hehe!...it definitely isn't the Loch Ness monster... I think it's just a rock.
I was told, that one could watch dolphins and whales from the shore at certain times of the day. We unfortunately didn't see any that day.
Maybe next time, I'll make sure we come back in the summer time.
The pathway leading up to the caves was some what challenging for me, unlike hubby, he seemed to take it on like a pro...Omg...I think it was because my jeans were to tight Lol! or was it just due to being unfit...I think the latter.
The suburb of Llandunno has the most expensive properties in South Africa.
There are no shopping centers or commercial activities in the area. The nearest town is Hout Bay, a little fishing Village which is a 5 minute drive.
Llandudno is also an access point for a walk to Sandy Bay, an isolated beach which is still popular amongst Nudists.
We'll definitely come back in the summer...what do you think? Lol!
The art work on the walls and seats over looking the sea, are quite appealing.
Thank you for coming along with me on my little excursion to a beautiful place called Llandudno along the Peninsula of the Western Cape South Africa.
I hope you've enjoyed it as much as I did.
Happy Travels

Love this landscapes
Thank you @alteramelia for stopping by.
You really had a ball during your Cape visit @artywink! Llandudno beach looks lovely but quite different from our sandy beaches...we want to hear all about Sandy Bay if you go there one of these days;)
Those mosaics are stunning as well!
Hehe...oh my word, can you just imagine. Peter always tells me that the human body is beautiful that's why he always uses it's form in his art, only thing is, one can't take photos there, and also cannot stare at people. That would be very hard for me, I love watching people, they fascinate me, I always try and imagine were they're from and what kind of life they lead, I remember going to a writers workshop in Durban, we went to Pot n Kettle in Botha's hill. We had to pick out a couple in the crowd and write a murder short story, we often did that, it got the creative juices going, lol, it was such fun, now I just cannot help myself, I find myself doing that all the time.
Maybe I should write a blog on that topic hey. Haha, just for fun.
Thanks my friend for stopping by.
I can imagine they would not allow photos but you could always hide behind the bushes & snap away LOL 😅
Likely won't be a pretty sight though!
I like the idea of the murder story, one could really let your imagination run wild 😜
