Samudra Pasai Museum: Uncovering Islamic history and culture in Aceh
Good evening to all my friends
The Samudra Pasai Islamic Museum is a museum located in Lhokseumawe, Aceh, Indonesia.
Yesterday I visited the place with a friend of mine, when I got there I was personally impressed by the history and culture in the place.
My friend!!
This museum has a collection of artifacts and historical objects from the ancient kingdom, namely the Samudra Pasai Kingdom, which is also the first Islamic kingdom in Indonesia.
With the existence of this place, I personally feel impressed by the beauty and uniqueness of the collections in the place, so that I personally can understand more deeply about the history of Islam and culture in Aceh, therefore I consider it a fortune to be able to visit the place.
Apart from that, my friend!!
The Samudra Pasai Museum has an important role in preserving Islamic culture and history in Aceh. by exhibiting the existing collections, this museum can increase public awareness of the importance of preserving culture and history.
Okay, my friend, below are some pictures and short writings from me about the place, I hope that you all like the pictures that I share later and your comments, suggestions and support are very valuable for me to perform better in the future
This is the first picture when we arrived at the Samudra Pasai Museum. Previously, all the historical objects were stored next to the building and then the museum was moved to this building.
Previously
We parked our motorbikes in the old building then walked to this building, the old building has a very beautiful design with architecture that is so amazing for me personally, so it's a shame that the place is now abandoned.
Entering the building, the first thing I found was an illustration of the Samudra Pasai Kingdom in the past. There was a very beautiful garden with a very pleasant village.
My friend can imagine how successful the kingdom was in the past.
Then I walked through the place and found the tombstones of the kings there were many tombstones with explanations and I took only a few of them because if I took them all it could reach more than 50 sheets of pictures.
My friend!!
The tombstones are the tombstones of the kings in the past, and this place is called the museum with the garden of the kings.
Then I continued my exploration, and I found traditional weapons.
It was written there
~North Aceh is one of the areas in Aceh province that has several types of traditional weapons, two of which are peudeung (sword) and rincong (rencong).
The people of North Aceh have long known these two traditional weapons, even since the time of the Islamic kingdom of Samudra Pasai (13th century) AD. Initially, this traditional weapon was used to hunt animals or protect themselves from attacks by wild animals in the forest, but over time and changes in conditions experienced at that time, this traditional weapon could also function as a protective tool on the battlefield.
And I also had the chance to enter one of the rooms which was filled with decorations from the time of the Islamic kingdom of Samudra Pasai, some of which are in the pictures that I shared at this meeting.
I also took some pictures before finally deciding to leave the place because the weather was starting to brighten a bit so we looked for lunch.
My friends!!
If one day you visit North Aceh, I recommend this place for you to visit because it presents a lot of historical artifacts and even some customs that existed during the golden age of Islam Samudra Pasai, and the pictures you see in my post this time are only a large part of the place.
Okay my friends, those are some of the pictures and my short story at this meeting, I hope you all are entertained and like it.
Greetings everyone, see you in the next post.
