City Hues
The breeze softly moved through the blue
Into the forest, into the sea
At the foot of a mountain so high
With the pine trees and cliffs
Telling stories on the way up
Sliding smoothly down the snow
On boards of fiberglass, resin, and birch.
Then we returned to the city, so fair
Still in winter coats and boots,
Ordered hamburgers and shakes
In a pulp fiction affair.
While outside the snow kept on falling
Swirling madly in the air.
What lay ahead was a misty dream yet come true.
There was only this moment of ketchup and fries,
Carefree chatter and laughs-
A tale that glittered with colourful lights,
Beside the window where the city hummed,
And the breeze softly moved through the blue.

The concrete jungle welcomes those who arrived from the mountains and receives them with the bizarre lights seducing the senses and leading them towards a ketchup of life.
Some lines that inspire.
Thanks for sharing.

Very good inspiration... I'm inspired by the sea...
I like the vivid imagery of the poem, especially the description of the winter scenery and the playful tone of the ending. The poem captures the feeling of a memorable winter day perfectly. Weldone
