Bad Weather - Daily Freewrite Prompt 2023
This is my participation in #dailyprompt initiated by @marriannewest
There are tornadoes and high winds in Pittsburgh I live approximately an hour and a half just north of there. I saw a video on facebook earlier. A pizza joint lost its whole roof in the storm. I didn't pick up one if it was a tornado, but there were tornadoes forecasted for this whole area. I think we are too far north for the path of the bad storm.
I gave both the dogs a calming chew. Inara, the black dog is scared of storms. She sleeps outside of our bedroom door.
Jeff, my husband, is spending the last night this week in Boston. He called the place a cesspool. He said he doesn't want to go back. I'm glad he was able to get the jobs done. He had been there a couple of weeks ago to set up machines, but the power was not turn on yet. The drive to Boston, it is about nine hours. He said he'll leave early tomorrow morning for home.
I struggled today working. I still don't have my voice back and my phone job. It's very busy. The calls are back to back. By the first hour, my voice started slipping again today. The medication they put me on as working, so i'm starting to feel better. I'm on prednisone and amoxicillin.
After work, I took the dogs out a few times to run Daisy with the ball thrower.
It was a beautiful evening
I won't lie.I do like the peaceful evenings without television when my husband goes out of town. Because of the work that I do, I'm dealing with constant people talking, and I love silence the best. I was able to get some studying done in the bible study book that I need to turn back in at church. There was a total of twenty five lessons. I've had the book for a couple of months and I feel it's overdue in returning. They were twenty five quizzes inside of the book, along with a work book.
The Struggle is real
Some of the damage
Daisy was a bad girl last night and did some destruction. She chewed up my new android charge cord then did a big number on the sofa seat.
Temporary Solution
Thankfully, I had a sofa cover that I could install. Jeff is not happy with her destructive behavior then neither am I. I'm working on a solution. She's a border collie mix and how's all traits of border collie. She needs to be busy. And chewing or playing. She is my work companion during the day so I can watch over her. Inara chooses to sleep in her crate until her dad comes home while I work.
This will suffice for now, I'm sorry for the poor photo
It's almost 11:30 pm here,in Northwestern, Pennsylvania. I need to be getting to sleep and continuing to heal.
This is my proof that I am #aliveandthriving. Have a wonderful night/day wherever you read this.
I agree with Jeff, a couple of years ago I went to Boston with my oldest daughter. She wanted to see where the Boston Tea Party was held. If you ask me, it is a huge tourist trap. We stopped at a local bar/restaurant and the people were so loud, I could not hear anything my daughter was saying to me. I believe they were locals because they sounded like they were from that area. We had a rental car and of all things, it had Florida tags. Even though my daughter's driving was nothing wrong, we got honked and yelled at everywhere we went. I had heard there are parts of Boston we should not go to because of how bad it is.
Why did Jeff drive that far and not take his plane?
I think I would rather live where there are hurricanes instead of tornadoes. we can get a tornado in a hurricane, but it is not that often.
He drives because he has a lot of tools needed that are too hard to fly with. The hassle outweighs the convenience. His work truck is leased for all expenses, so it's just long hauls everywhere for sites he needs to service. Someone who normally handles Boston is out for a back injury so he needed to respond. I wonder why they were beeping at you. I don't see a need to visit Boston. It was never on my list.
I also will take tornadoes over your hurricanes!
