MOTH VARIATIONS

The insect is already distorted, re-colored, and duplicated using Photoshop in this opening picture.

This is the closest to the original photograph I still have. It's an artsy, painting-like edit but the colors are almost authentic.

Here I made a fairly complex moth-themed fantasy from just one insect.

Here the thing turned into some kind of egg.

Here you can take a monochrome look at the erected moth-like alien.

Here you can see four more variations. These are pretty similar to the original photograph.

Here you can see another vertical alien, while in the following picture ...

... you can see a pair of them talking or communicating in some other way. And that's it. I have nothing else to show, so the post must end here - THE END.

Back in 2008, when I bought my first good and fairly expensive digital camera, I photographed an Emmelia trabealis moth. Among many other things, of course. Haven't photographed just one single moth. Anyway, the camera was new, I didn't have much skill & practice with it, so the photograph wasn't very good. Photoshop was also fairly new to me back then, so when I tried to make the picture better there, the result ended up being a bit rough. The photograph didn't look like a photograph anymore, so I decided to continue along that path and make some extreme edits. I distorted the shape, changed the colors, and added quite a few lighting effects. The result still looked clumsy. The thing was far from being elegant, but I liked it. Well, not completely, I liked it just enough to not delete the experiment. Since I still like the atmosphere of those early works, I like it even better now, actually, because rough, clumsy stuff doesn't bother me like before, I decided to publish the moth variations today. Hope you find them interesting.

AS ALWAYS IN THESE POSTS ON HIVE, THE PHOTOGRAPH AND ALL THE EDITS OF THAT SINGLE PHOTOGRAPH, ARE MY WORK.

Wow taking a cool photo and making it so magical with effects and digital creativity makes for amazing results. Makes me reconsider some of the pictures I take to get neat lines, textures or structures. I don’t have the tools or the time to make something as cool as yours.

Perhaps I should use a little ai generation to make something out of my abstract shots.

Looks like an album cover!

The first moth, that seems like it's being formed from water?...

I love these. They are nice and raw and a bit edgy like from a sci-fi scene but with an almost graphic novel type of feeling. I haven't been able to play with photoshop for ages. Maybe I need to find some time this weekend. 🦋

Wow!... What an interesting thing... I love these results!... I have sometimes experimented with digitally distorting my photos, but I can certainly learn by looking at what you did with that moth!... Very, very, very Interesting @borjan friend... You are a box of surprises!!!..

The editing effect on this moth was amazing @borjan. Certainly, this insect went from being a simple moth to looking like an extraterrestrial specimen like the ones you get to see in sci-fi movies. This set of images would be excellent for the cover of a magazine or any other type of publication. Best regards my friend.
