8 de septiembre: Dia de la Virgen del Valle 🤍 [esp/eng]

¡Hola, amigos de esta comunidad de Hive Margarita! Como sabrán hace poco fue el día de nuestra Patrona del Oriente Venezolano, Nuestra Virgen del Valle, y como cada año me fui con mi familia a visitarla, escuchar la misa y pasar un rato en el Valle, sin embargo, este año fue diferente a los demás porque no pasamos solamente la mañana, sino que nos quedamos todo el día en el Valle hasta la tarde para escuchar su Rosario, fue toda una experiencia y se los quiero contar.

Hello, friends of this Hive Margarita community! As you may know it was recently the day of our Patroness of Eastern Venezuela, Our Lady of the Valley, and as every year I went with my family to visit her, listen to mass and spend some time in the Valley, however, this year was different from the others because we did not spend only the morning, but we stayed all day in the Valley until the afternoon to listen to her Rosary, it was quite an experience and I want to tell you about it.

El día empezó bien temprano a las 4 a.m, ya que como cada año caminamos hasta el Valle, no es un trayecto muy largo, creo que es de aproximadamente una hora, pero es mejor hacerlo lo más temprano posible para llegar antes de que empiece a salir el sol y poder agarrar un buen lugar para escuchar la misa, así que ya teníamos algunas cosas preparadas desde el día anterior y a las 5 de la mañana estábamos saliendo para el Valle, un trayecto muy tranquilo en donde ves pasar gente que ya se va del Valle o que va hacia él, también gente que hace el camino varias veces trotando o corriendo, y desde el camino pudimos ver el muy bonito amanecer que estaba pasando. Llegamos al Valle y todavía no había culminado la misa de las 5 de la mañana, por lo que nos quedamos a escuchar su final, cantaron cumpleaños y luego termino la misa, las personas se empezaron a retirar y pudimos buscar un lugar tranquilo para sentarnos, desayunar y esperar que empezara la siguiente misa a las 8 de la mañana.

The day started very early at 4 a.m. because as every year we walk to the Valley, it is not a very long way, I think it is about an hour, but it is better to do it as early as possible to arrive before the sun begins to rise and to be able to grab a good place to listen to the mass, so we already had some things prepared from the day before and at 5 in the morning we were leaving for the Valley, a very quiet ride where you see people passing by who are already leaving the Valley or going to it, also people who make the road several times jogging or running, and from the road we could see the very beautiful sunrise that was happening. We arrived at the Valley and the 5 am mass had not finished yet, so we stayed to listen to the end of it, they sang birthdays and then the mass ended, people started to leave and we could find a quiet place to sit down, have breakfast and wait for the next mass to start at 8 am.

Desde ahí pudimos observar la cantidad increíble de personas que había y lo bonito que estaba todo decorado con flores, tanto la Virgen del Valle como el lugar de la explanada donde dan la misa, lleno de rosas y decorado muy lindo. Escuchamos la misa de las 8 y antes de que acabará decidimos subir al lugar donde ponen las sillas y ver todo un poco más de cerca, fuimos caminando y llegas a estar muy cerca de la Virgen, había una chica cantando y varios grupos de danza bailando con las faldas muy lindas, Volvieron a cantar su cumpleaños, se escuchó el himno de la Virgen del Valle y la bajaron para llevarla hasta la basílica, salimos rápido de la explanada para llegar a la calle por donde pasa y verla más de cerca, y así fue, obviamente la Virgen viene muy protegida por personas para que no pase nada malo así que hice lo pude intentando tomar una foto desde donde estaba.

From there we could see the incredible amount of people that were there and how beautiful everything was decorated with flowers, both the Virgin of the Valley and the esplanade where they give the mass, full of roses and decorated very nice. We listened to the 8 o'clock mass and before it ended we decided to go up to the place where they put the chairs and see everything a little closer, we walked and you get to be very close to the Virgin, there was a girl singing and several dance groups dancing with very nice skirts, they sang her birthday again, The hymn of the Virgin of the Valley was heard and they took her down to take her to the basilica, we left the esplanade quickly to get to the street where she passes and see her more closely, and so it was, obviously the Virgin is very protected by people so that nothing bad happens so I did what I could trying to take a picture from where I was.

Llegamos hasta la basílica en donde dejaron entrar a la Virgen para acomodarla y luego la iglesia abría sus puertas para que por grupo las personas pudieran entrar y estar un momento cerca de ella, la cola que se hizo afuera de la iglesia era larguísima, tanto que pensé que no íbamos a poder entrar a verla porque ya estábamos algo cansadas y hacer esa fila con el sol de casi el medio día no era muy buena idea, así que buscamos un lugar con sombra (conseguimos uno muy bueno enfrente de la iglesia) y nos quedamos descansando, y fue ahí que decidimos en vez de ya irnos esperar hasta las 5 de la tarde que volvía a sacar a la Virgen para una peregrinación y un Rosario.

We arrived at the basilica where they let the Virgin in to accommodate her and then the church opened its doors so that by group people could enter and be close to her for a moment, the line outside the church was very long, so long that I thought we were not going to be able to enter to see her because we were already a little tired and standing in that line with the sun almost at noon was not a very good idea, So we looked for a shady place (we got a very good one in front of the church) and we rested, and it was there that we decided instead of leaving to wait until 5 o'clock in the afternoon when the Virgin would be taken out again for a pilgrimage and a Rosary.

La tarde la pasamos tranquila, caminando por la plaza de vez en cuando, hacia mucho calor que nos pedimos unos raspados de Kolita y tamarindo, vimos pasar varias bandas de toda Venezuela que vienen a tocar en las festividades de la Virgen, también aprovechamos de tomar algunas fotos y esperar, en un momento aprovechamos de que la cola se había hecho muy corta y la hicimos, así que entramos a la iglesia y estuvimos en frente de la Virgen del Valle.

We spent the afternoon quietly, walking around the square from time to time, it was so hot that we ordered some Kolita and tamarind raspados, we saw several bands from all over Venezuela that come to play at the festivities of the Virgin, we also took the opportunity to take some pictures and wait, at one point we took advantage that the queue had become very short and we did it, so we went into the church and we were in front of the Virgin of the Valley.

Cerca de la cinco ya la gente empezaba a quedarse cerca de la iglesia y empezaba a llenarse otra vez, salio la Virgen del Valle y todas las personas tenían su teléfono en alto para tomarle alguna foto o video, fuimos detrás de ella durante la peregrinación, y luego volvió a llegar al frente de la iglesia para que se hiciera el rosario, el cual escuchamos, y de ahí le cantamos otra vez cumpleaños, el último del día y nos despedimos de ella y del Valle, ya que estaba oscureciendo y teníamos que regresar.
Fue un día muy bonito lleno de Fe y devoción, otro 8 de septiembre cumpliendo y estando en el Valle por ella, Espero que les haya gustado mi post y muchas gracias por leer 🫶🏻

Around five o'clock people started to stay near the church and it started to fill up again, the Virgin of the Valley came out and all the people had their phones up to take a picture or video of her, we followed her during the pilgrimage, and then she came back to the front of the church for the rosary, which we heard, and from there we sang her birthday again, the last of the day and we said goodbye to her and the Valley, since it was getting dark and we had to go back.
