Night Walk Through the City

My walk through the capital city has left me with unforgettable experiences, but, as I have said in different posts, this year's experience was a bit eventful; I didn't have the opportunity to post much, but I did have the pleasure of enjoying an incredible atmosphere, where lights, color, and joy were a constant in every space. But this time, I'm here to tell you a little about a night walk I took in the vicinity of Plaza O'Leary, which is a large roundabout that marks the starting point of the main avenues in the western part of the city.

Caminata Nocturna Por la Ciudad

Mi andar por la ciudad capital me ha dejado experiencias inolvidables, pero, como lo he dicho en diferentes post, la experiencia de este año fue un tanto accidentada; no tuve la oportunidad de publicar mucho, pero sí tuve la dicha de disfrutar de un ambiente increíble, en donde las luces, el color y la alegría fueron una constante en cada espacio. Pero en esta oportunidad les vengo a contar un poco sobre un paseo nocturno realizado en las inmediaciones de la Plaza O'Leary, la cual es una redoma de grandes dimensiones que marca el punto de partida de las principales avenidas del oeste de la ciudad.

We couldn't say that it is a purely historical space, since its construction dates back to the 1950s, as I understand it, and even if we look around us, we can appreciate an architectural style marked by sobriety, straight lines, and impressive geometry, fitting together perfectly, which takes us back to the middle of the last century, to a time when the most important thing was to make the most of spaces for housing or commercial needs.
No podríamos decir que se trata de un espacio netamente histórico, ya que su construcción tengo entendido que data de los años 50, e incluso si observamos a nuestro alrededor podremos apreciar un estilo arquitectónico marcado por la sobriedad, las líneas rectas y una impresionante geometría, en calzar a la perfección, lo cual nos traslada A mediados del siglo pasado, en una época en donde lo primordial era el aprovechamiento de los espacios en virtud de las necesidades habitacionales o comerciales.

This square has two impressive fountains, made of cement and bearing the characteristic touch of Venezuelan master Francisco Narváez, who left one of his most iconic works in this part of the city. Over the years, these fountains have become an unmistakable landmark in western Caracas. The sense of belonging of the inhabitants of this sector to their public space is easily palpable, as they seem to be proud of every square meter and at the same time enjoy a perfectly designed place in a healthy way.
Esta plaza cuenta con dos impresionantes fuentes, elaboradas en cemento y con el toque característico del maestro venezolano Francisco Narváez, quien dejó en este punto de la ciudad una de sus obras más icónicas, las cuales con el pasar de los años se han convertido en un punto de referencia inequívoco del oeste caraqueño. Es fácilmente palpable el sentido de pertenencia de los habitantes de este sector hacia su espacio público, ya que en su accionar parecen estar orgullosos de cada metro cuadrado y al mismo tiempo disfrutan sanamente de un lugar perfectamente diseñado.

Here, the city seems to envelop us, the sound of cars is present, the horizon is marked by buildings, and the sky on this occasion looked impeccable. Without realizing it, several hours had passed since sunset, I continued to enjoy a truly magical space, where lights shine everywhere, people walk back and forth, and cars circulate as if in a permanent cycle, all under a deep sense of security and with the conviction that I was enjoying the most beautiful part of this sector of the city to the fullest.
Acá la ciudad pareciera arroparnos, el sonido de los carros está presente, el horizonte está marcado por edificios y el cielo en esta oportunidad lucia impecable, sin darme cuenta ya habían pasado varias horas desde el ocaso, yo seguí disfrutando de un espacio realmente mágico, en donde las luces brillan por todos lados, la gente caminaba de un lado a otro y los carros circulaban como si se tratase de un ciclo permanente, todo esto bajo una profunda sensación de seguridad y con la convicción de que estaba disfrutando al máximo con es más lindos de este sector de la ciudad.

Tal vez muy pocos se aventuran a conocer la capital venezolana, pero les aseguro que caminar por sus calles y disfrutar de sus plazas es una de las experiencias más placenteras que cualquiera pueda vivir, ya que es justamente en esta interacciónnde podemos descubrir la realidad de una ciudad que esconde hermosos parajes y en donde siempre seremos recibidos con la alegría y la resiliencia que caracteriza al pueblo venezolano.
