Update on my wife and a new lens

Update on my wife and a new lens

Another quick post with an update on my wife’s injury

We went and saw a specialist today and seems the ER doctor got it right that she has a fracture in the shoulder but wrong in that she would not need surgery.

In his words it’s a severe fracture the whole joint about the ball is fractured and she will need shoulder replacement surgery and he is referring her to a doctor that is very experienced in that field in Boston

Waiting for the Boston Dr call and schedule an appointment or the surgery

Lulu is exhausted and worn down from all the pain so let’s hope the surgery can happen quickly

I am doing ok also worn down as she is not sleeping well and needs a hand to do almost anything so my sleep has been limited but I am not complaining I don’t have to deal with the pain she is

I needed to add a photo to the post so here is a photo of a new Lens I received on the 22nd the day Lulu broke her shoulder so it’s still in the box

A small note the 22nd was the day that lens went on sale a newly released lens that I think will work very well for me and will at some stage do a post about it

And lastly

Thanks so much for all the support for my wife it is truly appreciated

Sorry still going to be offline mostly and will nit be commenting on all the Wednesday Walk posts this week

So sorry about your wife's situation. My younger brother suffered a fracture too and needed surgery. These things are delicate and very severe. Wishing her well for the surgery and hope she recovers soon

Hi @tattoodjay! I'm so sorry to hear about your wife's injury! I really do hope she can get the necessary treatment that she needs as soon as possible and I wish her a speedy recovery.

I can imagine that it's putting a toll on you too, not getting enough sleep, but I admire your approach and taking such great care of your wife!

Enjoy your new lens👍!

That is probably awesome. Most of my smartphone (Samsung Galaxy A12) photos are 1.13 mm and 4.60 mm. And this objective is much more expensive than my Samsung Galaxy A12 smartphone.

Sorry to hear Lulu has hurt herself.., miserable being in pain, sincerely hope the Doctor books her into the hospital soon!

Commute to Boston may be taxing with you being tired, try rent B&B close to the hospital for duration of stay in the city and know we thinking of you two.

That is too bad that they have to do surgery, but it sounds like she is going to be in good hands. Pretty lucky that you have so many amazing hospitals within a short distance of you there. I know my mother in law had knee replacement and the pain after the surgery was almost worse than before. The good news is, that is temporary and once she has her new shoulder for a few weeks she will hopefully be much happier.

At least the real extent of the damage is now known and the right course of action can be taken.
I hope and pray the surgery will go smoothly.

Oh! I wish her a speed recovery and then a good sleep to you :)
50-400mm is a big zoom ratio (0f 8). I've tried many lenses with bigger "zoom" and to be honest, when image quality is paramount, anything above 4 wasn't working for me very well. Hopefully you're satisfied with this one, Tamron seem to be moving into the right direction. I own Canon 100-400mm lens that weights almost 2 kg (that makes almost 3 kg with the camera) and for its price and the necessity to be in good physical shape to carry it and use it... well, it has to provide top quality.

So sorry to hear it is worse than thought. But good that with a surgery it can be replaced and fixed.
Hope you hear soon from the doc from Boston. So that she can be quickly helped and start the healing process. 🤞🏻🤞🏻🍀🍀
All the best wishes for both of you! Take care… give her a big hug (carefully)

That’s a great new lens… you must be happy 😊
Have fun, when you have time, exploring the new lens.

Hope your wife is able to get in soon and get get some relief.

I have the Canon 100-400. When I sold my Canon cam, I kept the lens hoping to get another newer Canon(that is full frame and 4k) sometime in the future. I look forward to see what this 400 can do.

50-400mm reminds me of the bigma [ sigma 50-500 ] wonder how the overall lens quality is, but for now it looks like you over other things to look after first , get well wishes for the wife .

I hope the weather holds out for you and your wife. I had a winter surgery, and it was not fun making it to appointments after, but I managed, I am sure you two will also. Here's hoping for the best outcome for your wife Lulu.

Lulu and you should rest up, my friend.
And if the surgery is soon, got to have sleep in there (in advance, if there is such a thing), and recoup lost sleep.
Take care, @tattoodjay. I'm praying for Lulu.
