[ENG/ESP] The colors of a beautiful Wednesday in Margarita.
Greetings, dear friends of #wednesdaywalk. Today I’m back to share a little glimpse of my weekly outing with you—one that has already become a tradition thanks to the wonderful initiative of our dear friend @tattoodjay, who gives us this space to share, reminisce, and enjoy together every Wednesday. I’m so happy to be able to tell you once again how my day went, because even though it was simple, it was full of those little moments that make life on Margarita Island a warm and bright adventure.

Hoy vuelvo a traerles un pedacito de mi recorrido semanal, ese que ya se ha convertido en una tradición gracias a la hermosa iniciativa de nuestro querido amigo @tattoodjay, quien nos regala este espacio para compartir, recordar y disfrutar juntos cada miércoles. Me alegra muchísimo poder contarles nuevamente cómo transcurrió mi día, porque aunque fue sencillo, estuvo lleno de esos pequeños momentos que hacen que la vida en la Isla Margarita sea una aventura cálida y luminosa.
My outing began early in the morning, when my husband and I set out for the Sunsol Unik Hotel to go about our work routine. The weather was glorious, with that strong, warm sun that’s so characteristic of the island. Despite the heat, the sea breeze slipped through the buildings and made the journey more pleasant. Along the way, I took the opportunity to snap a few photos; as you know, I love capturing those landscapes that look as if they’ve been painted with light, which I can then share with you so you can get a little taste of this very special place.
Amid rolling hills, palm trees, and that blue sky that never disappoints, we arrived at the hotel. There, the head of maintenance was waiting for us to perform the routine chlorination and disinfection of the main tank. It’s a job we do with dedication, because we know how important it is to keep the water in perfect condition for all our guests. While we worked, the sun continued to illuminate every corner of the hotel, giving it that tropical touch that visitors love so much.
Mi paseo comenzó desde temprano en la mañana, cuando mi esposo y yo salimos rumbo al hotel Sunsol Unik para cumplir con nuestra rutina de trabajo. El clima estaba radiante, con ese sol fuerte y abrazador que caracteriza a la isla. A pesar del calor, la brisa marina se colaba entre los edificios y hacía el trayecto más agradable. En el camino aproveché para tomar algunas fotografías; ya saben que me encanta capturar esos paisajes que parecen pintados con luz, y que luego puedo compartir con ustedes para que sientan un poquito de este lugar tan especial.
Entre montañas suaves, palmeras y ese cielo azul que nunca decepciona, llegamos al hotel. Allí nos esperaba el jefe de mantenimiento para realizar la rutina de cloración y desinfección del tanque principal. Es un trabajo que hacemos con dedicación, porque sabemos lo importante que es mantener el agua en perfectas condiciones para todos los huéspedes. Mientras trabajábamos, el sol seguía iluminando cada rincón del hotel, dándole ese toque tropical que tanto encanta a quienes lo visitan.
When we were done, we had to set out on another small mission: to find some screws and washers we needed for a job scheduled for the coming days. We’d been told we could find them at a store in town called La Tornillería, so we headed there. The city was bustling, full of activity, and the sun seemed determined to accompany us every step of the way.
Al terminar, nos tocó emprender otra pequeña misión; buscar unos tornillos y arandelas que necesitábamos para un trabajo programado para los próximos días. Nos habían dicho que podíamos encontrarlos en una tienda de la ciudad llamada La Tornillería, así que nos dirigimos hacia allá. La ciudad estaba vibrante, llena de movimiento, y el sol parecía decidido a acompañarnos en cada paso.
However, at La Tornillería we didn’t find what we were looking for. They very kindly suggested we visit another store, located in La Asunción, with the curious name of Cien Tornillos y Cien Gomas. So we got back in the car and headed there, enjoying the scenery that always makes any trip feel shorter.
La Asunción was just as charming as ever, with its quiet streets and that historic atmosphere that sets it apart. But, to our surprise, we didn’t find the screws we needed there either. It happens sometimes; you set out on a simple mission and end up on a little adventure. Even though we didn’t manage to find them, we decided to put off the search until tomorrow, because there’s always another chance, and we’re sure they’ll turn up eventually.
Sin embargo, en La Tornillería no conseguimos lo que buscábamos. Muy amablemente nos sugirieron visitar otra tienda, ubicada en La Asunción, con el curioso nombre de Cien Tornillos y Cien Gomas. Así que nos montamos nuevamente en el vehículo y emprendimos camino hacia allá, disfrutando del paisaje que siempre hace que cualquier trayecto se sienta más corto.
La Asunción estaba igual de radiante, con sus calles tranquilas y ese aire histórico que la caracteriza. Pero, para nuestra sorpresa, tampoco allí encontramos los tornillos que necesitábamos. A veces pasa; uno sale con una misión sencilla y termina en una pequeña travesía. Aunque no logramos conseguirlos, decidimos dejar la búsqueda para mañana, porque siempre hay una nueva oportunidad y seguro aparecerán.
Our outing today wasn’t very long, but it was full of pleasant moments. The scenery was as beautiful as ever, treating us to colors, a gentle breeze, and that sense of tranquility that only the island can provide. I hope you enjoyed this little story and that you were able to get a small taste of this outing, which, though an everyday one, was full of charm.

Nuestro recorrido del día no fue muy largo, pero sí estuvo lleno de momentos agradables. Los paisajes nos acompañaron como siempre, regalándonos colores, brisa y esa sensación de tranquilidad que solo la isla sabe dar. Espero que este pequeño relato les haya gustado y que hayan podido sentir un poquito de este paseo que, aunque cotidiano, estuvo lleno de encanto.
