Friends of #wednesdaywalk, I hope you’re having a wonderful, peaceful, and productive day—one of those days that starts off on a positive note and unfolds with the serenity we all need. Today I want to share my walk with you, as I do every week, thanks to the initiative of our dear friend @tattoodjay, whose dedication and enthusiasm make every Wednesday a little reason to celebrate and to look more closely at the details around us. I’m always happy to participate, because it lets me pause for a moment and appreciate what usually goes unnoticed.
This Wednesday I had two important tasks: first, to carry out my work routine at the Sunsol Ecoland hotel, and second, to go to the bank to resolve an issue with the company’s account. Over the last few days, I’ve had to use other means to cover some expenses, so I needed to clear up the situation and get everything in order. That’s why we left home early, intending to make the most of the morning and get as much done as possible before the city started to get busy.
The weather was perfect, with that clear sky that invites you to look up and take a deep breath. As we made our way into the city, we could see the urban landscape blending with the natural one—a combination that I always find fascinating. The colors, the shadows, the light on the hills… everything seemed especially beautiful, as if the day were determined to treat us to a wonderful experience.
Amigos de #wednesdaywalk, deseo que estén teniendo un día maravilloso, tranquilo y productivo, de esos que comienzan con buen ánimo y se van desarrollando con la serenidad que todos necesitamos. Hoy quiero compartirles mi recorrido, como cada semana, gracias a la iniciativa de nuestro querido amigo @tattoodjay, cuya constancia y entusiasmo hacen que cada miércoles sea un pequeño motivo para celebrar y para mirar con más cariño los detalles de nuestro entorno. Participar siempre me complace, porque me permite detenerme un momento y apreciar lo que normalmente pasa desapercibido.
Este miércoles tenía dos tareas importantes; primero, cumplir con mi rutina de trabajo en el hotel Sunsol Ecoland, y segundo, ir al banco para resolver un inconveniente con la cuenta de la empresa. En los últimos días he tenido que utilizar otras vías para cubrir algunos gastos, así que era necesario aclarar la situación y dejar todo en orden. Por eso salimos temprano de casa, con la intención de aprovechar la mañana y avanzar lo más posible antes de que la ciudad comenzara a llenarse de movimiento.
El clima estaba excelente, con ese cielo despejado que invita a mirar hacia arriba y respirar profundo. Mientras nos dirigíamos a la ciudad, pudimos apreciar el paisaje urbano mezclándose con el natural, una combinación que siempre me resulta fascinante. Los colores, las sombras, la luz sobre los cerros… todo parecía especialmente hermoso, como si el día estuviera dispuesto a regalarnos una buena experiencia.
Fortunately, at the bank, I was able to take care of what I needed to without any major setbacks. With that peace of mind, we set off for the hotel. We took the Portachuelo Road, where the natural scenery was particularly stunning. The trees were a deep, almost brilliant green, as if they’d just been refreshed by a recent rain. That part of the journey always inspires me, because it reminds me of the simple beauty that surrounds us.
En el banco, por fortuna, pude resolver lo necesario sin mayores contratiempos. Con esa tranquilidad emprendimos el camino hacia el hotel. Tomamos la vía Portachuelo, donde los paisajes naturales estaban particularmente radiantes. Los árboles mostraban un verdor intenso, casi brillante, como si hubieran recibido una lluvia reciente que los dejó renovados. Esa parte del recorrido siempre me inspira, porque me recuerda la belleza sencilla que nos rodea.
We also stopped by La Playa Lagoon, very close to the hotel. For me, seeing it is almost a ritual. I feel a special sense of peace when I watch the green hills reflected in the calm water. Whenever I pass by, I take a moment—even if it’s just a brief one—to gaze at it. It’s like a little respite for the soul, a breath of fresh air that stays with me for the rest of the day.
También pasamos por la laguna La Playa, muy cerca del hotel. Para mí, verla es casi un ritual. Siento una paz especial cuando observo los cerros verdes reflejándose en el agua tranquila. Siempre que paso cerca me tomo un momento, aunque sea breve, para contemplarla. Es como un pequeño descanso para el alma, un respiro que me acompaña el resto del día.
When we arrived at the hotel, my husband and I were greeted by our colleagues from the quality department, who always welcome us with the same enthusiasm and camaraderie.
Al llegar al hotel, mi esposo y yo fuimos recibidos por los compañeros del departamento de calidad, quienes siempre nos reciben con el mismo entusiasmo y camaradería.
We climbed up to the main tank together to perform our chlorination and disinfection routine, a task that requires precision and consistency. When we were done, we checked the parameters, and upon seeing that they were within the proper ranges, we wrapped up the technical work for the day.
Before heading back down, we took a few minutes to enjoy the views from that vantage point. From above, the landscape unfolds like a vast painting: the green, the blue, the hills in the distance, and the silence broken only by the wind. It’s a moment I always enjoy, because it reminds me that even in the midst of work, there’s room for contemplation.
Subimos juntos al tanque principal para realizar nuestra rutina de cloración y desinfección, un trabajo que requiere precisión y constancia. Al concluir, verificamos los parámetros y, al ver que estaban dentro de los rangos adecuados, dimos por finalizada la jornada técnica.
Antes de bajar, nos regalamos unos minutos para apreciar las vistas desde ese punto. Desde arriba, el paisaje se abre como un cuadro inmenso; el verde, el azul, los cerros a lo lejos, el silencio que solo se interrumpe con el viento. Es un momento que siempre disfruto, porque me recuerda que incluso en medio del trabajo hay espacio para la contemplación.
Finally, we climbed down from the tank and made our way back along Simplicio Rodríguez Avenue, feeling satisfied that we had fulfilled our duty and that we had had a productive day.
Finalmente bajamos del tanque y nos retiramos por la avenida Simplicio Rodríguez, con la satisfacción del deber cumplido y la sensación de haber tenido un día provechoso.
