Preparing the canvas of the earth.
This year many Indian states are expecting a low rainfall. Still being a farmer we expect to do farming at our own best. The meteorological department already confirmed drier June. In the month of June many indian states experienced low rainfall, the weather department already announced to have 41% lessor rain in the month of June. But hope for good is what keep people going. And we are not different, me and many farmers inspite of knowing about less rainfall doing our best to sow the crop seeds.

After waiting for entirely a week, we decided to sow the seeds for seedling. Me and my uncle took an early morning ride to our fields. The foel is situated near the jungle, so it was a welcome morning walk for both of us. On reaching the fields, we found ourself man already plowing the fields. Plowing is a way of loosening the soil for sowing seeds. It was fascinating to see the man is using the help of bullock to plow. We sat around the field to track the progress.

My uncle told the man who is maneuvering the bullock to do 2 chaas i.e to plow the area for 2 times so that the soil loose properly. For sowing the seeds bot the entire field is Plough. Only a small portion of the field is used to plow. The man is easily controlling the bullocks in getting the field plow. He made sure to have enough depth to loose the soil.

After plowing the fields, he took another wooden tool called leveler to level the plowed field. It is an important step for sowing. The seeds needs to sowed properly. After leveling the area, the man take out the seeds in a basket to spread.

In our area, we sow the seeds first for seedling. Seeds are scattered by hand across the dry or wet prepared field, to get proper seedling. Although there is a shortage of rainfall, but still we spread the seeds in the hope of good quality seedling. This is the easiest and fastest method.

This method requires shallow plowing, scattering the seeds and then harrowing afterward to cover the seeds and protect them from birds. Today morning outing is quite fruitful. Being a farmer, it is important, to keep the hope alive. Once the seedling gets ready, and we get enough water to make the fields wet, we sow them again for the crops production. Farming is quite lengthy process that require lot of patience and waiting to get desired output. This is the initial stage of farming. We hope to see the seedling in next 15 days, and afterwards a month time to get them sowed again.
In good faith - Peace!!
