Just Another Winter Day [Village Life]

When many people in the cities are planning for their vacation or to enjoy the upcoming Christmas holiday, somewhere, a different section of the society are living their life as just another simple day. They remain undeterred from what happening across the world. Though they are pretty much aware of all the things. I am referring about the simple life of villagers. They are not concerned at all about the hustle for holiday and celebration. They just know to carry out their work and live peacefully.
I have been staying here since 6 years, but still everyday appears to be a new days. On a bright sunny Wednesday, I went out for little walk and introduce myself to some good sights.

People in villages are living more freely than anywhere else. Neither there is danger of pollution nor they are afraid of the traffic. The best part is that everyone know each other. You hardly get unnoticed. Even the stray animals were knew about every village people. I am still a new person in village. Everyone know about my Dad, and when it comes to me, I have to give my introduction to many people. Hearing my Dad name they recognize immediately. But what happen to the new generation, who hardly seen my dad, will they recognize me in coming days? The question remain unanswered, as I do not have that magical Charisma and Aura that my Dad used to carry with him. But I need to make myself familiar to these newer kids. I offered them biscuits and they seem to happily enjoying it, soaking themselves in the sun.

(kids enjoying sunshine)

In winter this is very common sight villages. Get-out in the morning and Get-in during the evening. Kids or even adults comes out in open as soon as the sun rises. Soak them for few hours before getting back to their routine. These kids have been sitting and enjoying the morning sun, while a little dog expecting biscuits from them.

(an obedient stray dog)

I find these stray dogs more obedient, even though they are never been adopted, but getting a regular meals from a single family make them obedient and loyal towards them. They do not harm anyone and neither they jump on their food. They remain loyal till they were not offered any food by the family. I like the ear, how they are in alert position.

Freedom in village means to everyone. Even the little goats are not afraid of the Dogs nearby. They feel safe around their Mom. The Black one caught my attention more. Only 15 days old, the black one was too shiny. The hair on the body was too soft, and appears to be a made up of velvet. They play around, and sometime drinks their mothers milk, who was tied at one corner.

Winter time is the harvesting time for the farmers. They smoothly carry out the cutting job easily on the fields while enjoying the Sun. We often get to see the typical village scene in my area. the men working in the field and their family member especially carrying the food for them. Then they sit around the field an enjoy the meals together. It was such a pleasure watching the the love bonding between them. Sometime, the men eats first and then the women. (the usual traditional practices in India)

(flying swan in the fields)

In process we have many visitors around in the fields. Not the human, but there are many White swans feeding on the paddy fallen in the field. It was welcoming sight, but unable to catch them, as they flew past seeing and unknown face.

This has been the normal scene during this month winter. The harvested paddy's lying in the fields for few days. It allow them to dry a bit. It was a typical old method.

The water at the field at this time is something very rare. However teh presence of water bed nearby allow the water to collect at some of the low lying fields. Even in the winter, the farmers cut all their paddy by getting in the cold watered fields. They know their timeline, they will finishing everything before the Year close. These paddys were later transported to respective farmer home.

I am surprised to find that the farmer are now prefer the tractors than the bullock cart. few years ago, we able to see few of the bullock carts heavenly loaded with the haystacks, moving in the village street, but not anymore. Tractor allow them a quick carriage but little expensive.

My village has been surrounded by jungle and some natural gifts. Our village ponds are now started to appear to be bit colorful, with the water lily blooming everywhere. The water body has been covered with the lily and needed some attention as it is not been used by the villagers for some time.

(blooming lotus)

Anyhow, it is too early to post about the evening, but like winter morning , the evening time too get special. we have people who gather together, lit up a bonfire for normal chat with the each other before heading towards their home.

(evening bonfire time)

Fire at various location are a common sight during the evening time. No heater, nor electric blower keep them warm. However a little time spent near the bonfire makes them quite warm for the evening. Always a happy time. I have this picture from yesterday evening.

This is how the life in the village during the winter. Beginning the day with the bright Sunny day and ending with the bonfire. This has been a usual practice since long and they do not want any alteration in their daily routine. They live happily.

Peace!!

The vivid descriptions of kids enjoying the sun obedient stray dogs and the harmonious scenes of harvest time paint a vivid picture of the unique charm your Village holds. Its heartwarming to witness the timeless traditions like sharing meals in the field and the transition from a bright sunny day to the warmth of an evening bonfire. Your storytelling captures the Essence of a life where every moment from the blooming lotus to the bustling harvest is celebration of nature and community. Thanks for sharing this slice of village life thats not just about the changing seasons but also about the unchanging spirit and joy found in the everyday.

I personally believe, the true life lies in village...everything is original, aid, the people, the love and affection and the feeling of togetherness. ....it is pretty hard to even feel them in cities.....People just remain in race...
Thanks for putting the valuable feedback on the post. It makes me feel better....👍👍

A very natural life, I was reading and tried to be there in every place in every picture. I liked the fields with the swans and the kids, what a beauty the black and their hair shining.
The innocent and fearless children, how important to have the heart of a child, they know everything... then the adult loses it.

I loved doing this walk with you, thank you!❤️

This reminds me of simple yet peaceful life on the countryside where you have nothing to worry what to eat, as long as you stretch your bones.

Been staying in the city for a decades, and seeing photos like this reminds me of Home and those bitter sweet memories.

Hahaha...yes rhe set up is such that anyone get attracted. But not easy for people to adapt unless and untill theynare ready to adapt...I stayed new Delhi all these years, and it's been 6 years in village and felt it has the real life. It has everything, culture, custom, tradition , love affection, and the feeling of belongingness.

How are you dear friend @steemflow good morning
It's good that even though you've lived there for six years, you still have exciting days and places to discover. It's great to know that you are meeting people, and many recognize you from your father.

I think that in places like this, far from the city, people live a different life with much more freedom, calm and safe.

Unfortunately, I think that more and more people are living the vacation seasons and Christmas holidays with a more normal day, a large part of the population is not well off financially for festive moments.

I take this opportunity to wish you a wonderful morning

I completelly agree to this sir @jlufer the onus is on us to make them.feel better...and make their day special. People in village have a very simple life do they do not bothered of any lavish demands...they stay happy with whatever litle they have with them

I think people in small remote villages live a much purer and peaceful life than those in cities and its something to be cherished

Thanks for joining the Wednesday Walk :)

Ah, your post reminded me of my own village. No doubt that the village life is the most beautiful we all have experienced or experiencing.

We might lose it as the modern world is progressing rapidly but these are some golden memories.

Look at those goat kids (so cute) and remember that it takes no time to turn into a disobedient dog😂. So be careful 😉

it is pretty hard to see people are foregoing the village life. it is a great example of peaceful living but now young generation is shifting towards the city in hope of making money, and leaving behind the beautiful legacy of custom and tradition

Hi @steemflow
Your article reminds me my past when I was 8 or 7 years older and I was use to play with little and beautiful kids of goats .It is also reminds me threshing and harvesting scenes of rice crop in winter season
and in the evening I was used to sit with friends around bonfire to have fun . Now I m been staying in city from 10 years I really miss those days of my life that I sent in the natural beauty and fresh scenes of nature in village.
