A Wednesday with the gift of a smile [EN-ES]

Hello, dear #wednesdaywalk friends!

How wonderful it is to return to this #WednesdayWalk initiative, where our friend @tattoodjay invites us to share what we accomplished so meaningfully on a day like today!

Last Wednesday, due to time constraints, I couldn't tell you exactly how meaningful it was for me to receive so many displays of affection from such special people. Therefore, I'm sharing part of what I experienced now because, even though it's been a week since it happened, it still remains in my heart, and I remember it as if it were happening again today.

It turns out it was my birthday and, although I woke up listening to a whole compendium of melodies in my head that burned me to the rhythm of bolero, blues, jazz and Pink Floyd with Wish You Were Here, I decided to try not to let sadness take over me and I decided not to look for anything special, just let the day flow and enjoy what it had in store for me.

I started the day with fresh orange juice. Something that, unfortunately, has become more difficult to achieve in my country for many years. Imagining the hen laying golden eggs, I cut each orange with delight and contemplation, savoring the juice to my heart's content.

I went out into the street, determined to admire the gift of life. The clouds, the trees, the birds stretching their wings in mid-flight, the shadows on the asphalt and their stories...

The contrast between the deteriorating buildings and the intentional construction of low-budget but welcome playgrounds along the river...

The day went by, and my son @eborosa arrived to give me his incomparable hugs and company, brightening my smile. We set out to find a place to have a beer or two together and talk about any topic.

The planned places didn't have any beer, but luckily we ran into some friends of his who have a rock band and were going to rehearse for a show they'd have soon, so we decided to stay for the rehearsal and then enjoy the afternoon with a whole concert to ourselves in the company of a few beers that I finally managed to buy after several searches.

We had a magical afternoon and truly enjoyed every song. I owed the group a debt, having been invited to several concerts but having never been able to attend. Fortunately, life took its turn and gave me the gift of a Wednesday like this, seeing and listening to them with my son.

At the end of the rehearsal, I had the pleasant surprise of being invited by @ernestopg and @lizandra to spend some time with them.

They fried some appetizers that served as a support for me to blow out a candle like someone blowing out a birthday cake and making a wish...

We laughed, they drank wine, and I just thanked them for their gesture while I hung my wish on a cloud. Who knows, maybe it will come true...

Evening fell, and we all said our goodbyes.

As I was about to head home, the rain caught me by surprise, and I had to wait for it to stop in a central part of the city. There, I bought another beer to toast those who can't, those who don't have, those who suffer, and also those who laugh.

There were some people playing chess on one side and I couldn't resist joining in for a while.

The birds that came to populate the trees of the central park warned of the end of the rain.

I took the opportunity to go and have a strong espresso and said goodbye, as I say goodbye to you for now, but not before smiling and sending you all a hug of light!

¡Qué maravilla regresar a esta iniciativa de #WednesdayWalk en la que nuestro amigo @tattoodjay nos invita a compartir aquello que realizamos de manera significativa un día como hoy!

El miércoles pasado no pude contarles con precisión, por cuestiones de tiempo, lo valioso que resultó para mí el haber recibido tantas muestras de cariño por parte de disímiles personas tan especiales. Por ello, les cuento ahora parte de lo vivido pues, aunque hace una semana ya de eso, aún permanece en mi corazón y lo recuerdo como si volviese a suceder hoy.

Resulta fue mi cumpleaños y, aunque amanecí escuchando en mi cabeza todo un compendio de melodías que me abrasaban a ritmo de bolero, blues, jazz y un Pink Floyd con Wish You Were Here, decidí intentar que la tristeza no se adueñara de mí y me propuse no buscar nada especial, solo dejar que el día fluyera y disfrutar lo que dispusiese en el camino.

Inicié el día con un jugo de naranjas frescas. Algo que lamentablemente se torna más difícil de poder hacer en mi país desde hace muchos años. Pero nada, imaginando a la gallina que pone huevos de oro, así corté cada naranja, con deleite y contemplación, para degustar el jugo a todo placer.

Salí a la calle decidido a admirar el regalo de la vida. Las nubes, los árboles, las aves estirando sus alas en pleno vuelo, las sombras en el asfalto y sus historias...

El contraste de las edificaciones en deterioro con la intencionalidad de construir al costado del río parques infantiles con bajo presupuesto pero con una utilidad que se agradece...

El día fue transcurriendo y llegó mi hijo @eborosa a regalarme sus abrazos y compañía incomparables para iluminarme la sonrisa. Nos dispusimos a encontrar algún sitio donde beber juntos alguna que otra cerveza y dialogar sobre cualquier tema.

Los lugares previstos no tenían cerveza, pero por suerte nos encontramos con unos amigos de él que tienen un grupo de rock e iban a ensayar para un espectáculo que tendrán pronto, así que decidimos quedarnos en el ensayo y entonces disfrutar la tarde con todo un concierto para nosotros en compañía de alguna que otra cerveza que sí logré comprar luego de varias búsquedas finalmente.

Pasamos una tarde mágica y realmente disfrutamos cada canción. Era una deuda que tenía yo con el grupo pues me habían invitado a varios conciertos y no había logrado asistir a ninguno. Por fortuna, la vida dio sus giros y me regaló la primera vez un miércoles como este, viéndoles y escuchándoles junto a mi hijo.

Al concluir, el ensayo tuve la grata sorpresa de ser invitado por @ernestopg y @lizandra a compartir un rato con ellos.

Frieron unos aperitivos que sirvieron de soporte para que soplase yo una vela como quien la sopla en los pasteles de cumpleaños y pide un deseo...

Nos reímos, ellos bebieron vino y yo solo agradecí por el gesto que tuvieron mientras el deseo que pedí lo colgué en una nube. Quién sabe si se haga realidad...

Caía la tarde y nos despedimos todos.

Cuando pretendía irme a casa, la lluvia me sorprendió y tuve que esperar que cesara en un lugar céntrico de la ciudad. Allí, compré otra cerveza para brindar por los que no pueden, por los que no tienen, por los que sufren y también por los que ríen.

En un costado habían unas personas jugando ajedrez y no pude resistirme a sumarme un rato con ellos.

Las aves que llegaban a poblar los árboles del parque central advertían del fin de la lluvia.

Aproveché para ir a tomar un fuerte café expreso y me despedí como me despido por ahora de ustedes, no sin antes sonreír y enviarles a todos, ¡un abrazo de luz!
