Walk With Flamingo Teens
People do stupid things... I do stupid things... And as a result of that, the levels of stress and anxiety are going through the roof... Along with that, health issues can arise, headaches, migraines, stiff neck, etc. Personally, for me, the best "cure" for those things is to go outside for a walk... It would be even better if I used it more as a PREVENTION tool, and not when it's already late and has to be cured... But, hey... Did I tell you at the beginning... I do stupid things... lol...

I tend to do daily walks... Colder weather is coming and I'm not that much motivated to go out, but checking some old photos can do the job and push me over the edge... Luckily, there is one place that I try not to miss every week.... On Sunday mornings, I drive my wife to her work in another city... While she is playing the piano for hotel clients, I go out for a walk... The city has a couple of different places to walk around, but one of my favorites is the one that I shared in the past, but it's too pretty not to be shared again... but, from a different angle...

The photos that will accompany you in this post are taken from 2 different days/walks... Both were early in the morning, while the sun was still low... It was so peaceful, and the lake surface was almost perfect... There are some nice reflections in it, but it could be better... Anyway, the big minus of the walk was that on some parts of the path, there were a lot of mosquitoes, and I hate them... On the other side, they like me... I was always the one who was bitten the most at home... 😂

I did mention that I shared at least one walk around this lake, and I can clearly remember showing you a photo of distant white spots that I had to assure you they are flamingos... And you had to believe me... Well, now let's change that! I have clear(er) proof this time! 😃

This lake is less than half a meter deep, as it was used in the past for producing salt... Nowadays, it's a natural habitat of many bird species, a few fish, and a lot of already mentioned mosquitoes... 😃

I suppose everyone knows what a flamingo looks like, with its long pink legs, white feathers, and a few pink ones in between... But, do you know what a young (teenage) flamingo looks like? I didn't know until I saw this one... and a few other brothers and sisters of his!

Most adult flamingos are afraid of people, and whenever I would come closer, they would just turn their backs and slowly walk toward the middle of the lake... Not sure if they were harassed by someone, or it's just their nature, but the youngsters weren't afraid!

So, I was finally able to take some photos of them, and you don't have to believe only my word anymore... You can believe your eyes too!!! 😃

A week after the first visit, my walking route was on the other side of the city, but I still decided to take a peek at the lake again... It was a bit windy and cloudy, so these photos aren't that good like those from the beginning, but I was lucky to meet some of my fellow teen flamingos again!

Those with pink feathers were further away, but a few youngsters were close enough for a photo!

I hope you enjoyed this short walk with flamingos! Do you have a similar place in your surroundings? A lake, or a pond, with some birds that like to pose for a photo?
Unfortunatelly, I didn't have a better camera to photograph these beauties... 😔 I had with me only my mobile phone...
Thank you for your time.

Hello friend 👋
Reading your post felt like I was walking with you. You know I love such lakes a lot when I went to the Northern Areas a few months ago I saw many such lakes there and since then I have fallen in love with these lakes. Your pictures are quite beautiful the color of the water and the sky cannot be distinguished and there is no doubt that a good walk makes you mentally and physically strong and gets rid of such a bad thing as stress.
I have seen this bird only once in reality and that too from a distance and I could not get a good short but its legs were light pink. There are more chances of mosquitoes near such lakes and like you I also fight mosquitoes every night.😄
Walking around the lake, or in the forest, or both, is something you can best do... I don't know why, by being close to the water is always satisfying... 😃
On the other side, being close to the water, in summer/autumn can attract those bloody mosquitoes... 🤣
Hi, you have nice reflections here. There's a contest about that.
I know about the contest, but I think my reflections aren't that great... Maybe when I had something better to show :)
Thanks for the suggestion! 🙏
You are too modest, or very polite. 😎
I'm a bit of a perfectionist... lol... The water wasn't still enough to get the "perfect" reflection... 😃
If you say so... 😎

Nice shots of the view! I'm also a favorite target of mosquitoes 😅 I’m always torn about using repellant. don’t wanna hurt their feelings hahaha
Seeing this made me realize it’s my first time seeing them, too! I think I like the younger ones more, their color looks nicer than the pink ones. Hope I get to see one in person someday!
Thanks for checking out the post! It was my first time too, to see young flamingos! That's why I was super-excited...
And regarding mosquitoes, I remember all those days of camping and fishing... And my arms and legs were full of bites... hahahaha... They would find a spot where I didn't use repellent and take a bite... 🤣
Thanks for curating the post, @dimascastillo90. It's an honor to be curated by a professional photographer! 🍻
Oh fluff yes, park with its pond five minutes walk and the beach ten minutes walk away. Loads of birds that pose for me there...but no flamingos, teens or otherwise!
Hehehehe... You're living in a dream place! I like to have water around! 💜
It looks like a nice place to be, and I am glad you were able to see the birds. I haven't gone out to the nearby lake in a while, but I should try to do that once in a while for a nice change of scenery. I have only seen flamingos in zoos so far.
You should definitely do it! Especially if the lake is near your place!
Don't forget to take photos and share them here!
I seldom go for walks with such beautiful scenery, the clear reflections on the lake is quite a marvel, weather looks amazing too! Used to see flamingos at a Nature reserve and always had this impression that they couldn't fly high until I saw one did just that, I thought they liked the water more than the sky lol.
Hehehe... They are weird birds, that's for sure... I don't know how many times I passed by this lake, but I think I never saw them flying... 90% of the time, their heads are under the water... hahahaha 😂
Lol, yes. They love the water. It's not common for them to be flying I think. They look heavy to me also despite their body shape/weight.
I thought I was the only one that did stupid things!!! 😂
We are going to have so much more to talk about now when we do meet IRL at the nest hivefest eh!!!🤣
And I do totally agree with you about walking as a stress release, but I have to add in bare feet in cool damp grass too!
Best cure for migraines by far and I'm sure it's even been scientifically proven too!
And another great cure for stress and headaches and doing stupid things- capturing great shots like yours there!
Beautiful!!!!
Love love LOVE!!!
XXX
hahahaha... it looks like WE are not alone... 😂
Sometimes, I miss grass... lol... I mean, I don't complain about nice weather here, but a bit more water, grass, and greenery itself would be great to have... 🙂
Thanks for your kind words! See you!
I think it's natural for humans to do stupid things once in a while. I do too, and I love taking a walk, whenever I can. 😅
These are beautiful shots and the lake looks so calm. But with the mosquitoes, I wouldn't want to be around there. 😂
Seriously, why did God create mosquitoes??? Do they have any "use case"? Except for molesting people and animals! 😃
Thanks for checking out the post! 🙏
Hehehe, sometimes I ask that question too. 😂
If only there was a way to eradicate them completely, I'll be so glad.
You're welcome
