Powerful Or Powerless .:. Wednesday Walk Thoughts

I have a bad habit to share with you... I get annoyed fast... And most of the time, with some stupid and ridiculous things... For example, having lunch and food falls off my fork... Or doing something very carefully, and then my hand slips and I ruin the work... Or having a great time, and I got sick... (happened recently at #HODAlicante)...

1000025442.jpg

Those are some of the things that I usually slip, or make a mistake, or life happens... On the side of that, many things annoy me... Recently, I have had one main thing that annoys me... When people tell me (or us) that we can't do something... Let me explain myself...

1000025443.jpg

The obvious example was during the C19 times, when the media was poisoning us with how we can't do anything, limiting us, and in some way, taking our freedoms... "Just in case..." That was the obvious answer for anything... People got ridiculed... I remember seeing people alone in the car, driving and wearing a mask... Or sitting in the middle of the woods, alone, with a mask on... It wasn't the case that someone TOOK our powers... It was the case that we gave our powers to others...

1000025444.jpg

Another example was happening over the last few decades... I remember while I was living in Serbia, whenever there was a need for building a new road, or some big project, the job would be assigned to some foreign company, as our domestic companies DIDN'T KNOW to do it! Just to have a perspective, a lot of big skyscrapers in the Emirates were built by Yugoslavian companies!

1000025445.jpg

1000025446.jpg

Similarly, the "power thing" is repeating over and over again... You can't build a shed alone, you don't know how to do it... You can't change the light bulb, you have to call an electrician... You can't walk on the street after dark, it's too dangerous... You can't go to school alone, someone will kidnap you... You can't walk from one town to another, it's too far!!!

1000025482.jpg

To be honest, the last sentence was something that I blindly accepted, without even trying... Thanks to Google Maps, I entered my starting point and my ending point, realizing that the distance is shorter than I thought! I walked from Benidorm to Alfaz del Pi for only 1.5 hours and reached my destination alive! I could do it!

1000025447.jpg

1000025448.jpg

And not just that, I took some fantastic photos on my path and enjoyed it a lot... Okay, after one week of staying at home and trying to get better, it was a bit of a bold step, but it was just what I needed!

1000025450.jpg

1000025451.jpg

I was walking partly on the route which I had done a couple of times in the past, and I didn't forget to take a photo of my favorite, carob tree... If this tree could talk, it would probably say something like: "F%ck it! You can't kill me! Until I have one healthy root, I will grow and bring fruits to the world!" That's why I love it!

1000025452.jpg

1000025453.jpg

1000025454.jpg

The day was beautiful, with cloudy skies, but with enough sun to make them even prettier...

1000025455.jpg

1000025457.jpg

1000025459.jpg

1000025462.jpg

1000025463.jpg

How about this "small" house for retirement days, @enraizar? 😃

1000025465.jpg

1000025467.jpg

1000025468.jpg

The ideal place to live is when it's close enough to the sea, but also to the mountains, while having peace far away from city hustle and bustle... I could live in this suburb... Easily...

1000025469.jpg

1000025470.jpg

1000025471.jpg

1000025473.jpg

When I was living in this area, I thought that there was no "new" space for building, but I was wrong... A few years ago, this was a nice small woods, where you could take your doggie for a walk, or just enjoy the shade of big trees... Today, it's another construction place, and probably more tourist apartments in the near future...

1000025474.jpg

1000025475.jpg

These carob trees are still holding... But until when... Until another investor buys the land and starts building...

1000025476.jpg

1000025477.jpg

1000025478.jpg

Another place, which was just a dirty parking lot... Today, it's a fenced area for the future Camper park...

1000025481.jpg

This is where my walk came to an end... I was a bit hungry and completely forgot to take a photo BEFORE taking a bite of delicious merengue... Bon appetite!

And don't forget... You are the only one who can give your power away; nobody can take it from you... And you are the only one who can LIMIT yourself, your freedoms, and your possibilities!

Thank you for your time.

Good afternoon @ph1102, I love that caustic opening. The reference to 2020 is very apt... I'm not so sure about the idea that we always have to be well.

In any case, I've really enjoyed this journey through history, where you can glimpse both the past and the future.

By the way, I liked the house, although I'm even happier that you're in good health now.

Big hug!!

Thanks for the good wishes! Appreciate them! 🙏

I heard house prices fell in China; maybe Spain will be next? :)

Good morning @ph1102, if house prices are falling in China... I'll have to look into it.😂

Best regards!

A great walk, especially after you've recovered.
WHen I saw the map where you were walking, I hope you made it to the beach.

I would definitely do it, another 20 minutes walk and in one walk, the mountains and the sea 🙂

That mountain massif in the background is great. I believe there are hiking trails on that side as well?

Darn! My comment, which I sent 4 hours ago, didn't go through!

Anyways... I was saying that I reached the sea... but not on foot... :)

And regarding this... You know I was born in Vojvodina... We aren't built for hiking... 😂

On foot or by bus, you reached the seashore... what a beautiful color 🙂 probably quite cold water?

And regarding this... You know I was born in Vojvodina... We aren't built for hiking...

And as for Vojvodina, yes, you are from the North-Western part, from Backa, everything is mostly flat there.
However, there is a mountain in Vojvodina, in the southern part, in Srem, which is also visited by hikers 🙂

I believe also these from Banat, in the southeast of Vojvodina, as they pass through the vineyards of Vršac.

I think it is annoying to see how easily we let others dictate what we can or can't do, particularly when we’re more capable than they think.

Exactly! It's pretty annoying! We are much more capable than we think... And demotivating things from the media are doing only harm in the long term... not just for us, but for the whole society!

Nice walk. I have about 5 to 10 km every day, too. It's great that you have the sea and mountains very close!

Well, I did have them close today... But, not every day... Hehehehe...
5-10 km per day is a nice walking tour! Keep doing it! 💪

Your journey is wonderful and proves that anything is possible... let no one say that something can’t be done. It reminds me of a film I think was called The Pursuit of Happiness

I’ll tell you one thing, that time during the pandemic—or rather, the plandemic—was tough for me, because I wasn’t going to do what they told me to. They weren’t going to stick a needle in me. And it was hard to stand my ground in society, especially when it came to work.

I really identified with everything you’ve said, although I don’t get angry... those things just make me sad.

Well, now that you said this... I wouldn't say I'm angry either... Sad maybe... Annoyed yes... But, luckily, these things don't hold me too long... I snap, and after a short time, I'm back to normality... Sometimes it does the opposite things... It pushes me to do better...

And I agree... it was ugly in those years... Especially for the polarization of people, which was done on purpose... With us or against us... Which wasn't the case, but it was presented like that...

Exactly! That whole period really helped me improve and do a lot of research on the subject... it really opened my eyes.

Oh man people alone in the car with a mask... How mainstream media terrorism worked... I still rarely see someone doing this!

I think I saw that just a few days ago... It's crazy how mainstream media brainwashed us... and they are doing it all the time...

So much concrete jungles for the tourist market lol!
Hope you are feeling better the now!

To my surprise, that building was almost all of concrete, which usually isn't the case here... Usually they are built much worse... lol... 😂
MOAR apartments for tourists! 🙄

Feeling better... Still can't talk too much due to a sore throat, but speaking is overrated... 😂

It's something we don't think about much, but I do agree that we are in control of what we want to do. Of course, things like money and laws can get in the way of things, but there are a lot of things that you put a limit on yourself. It's nice to think about things like that from time to time on your walks.

Yes, exactly! And we are doing that without even noticing! Limiting ourselves without any rational reasons!

There's really nothing like a good, long walk to get you feeling alright again after an illness. I guess it's good to know what you can't do, just so you have a clear idea of how to orient and things. But it's damn foolish letting anyone else tell you what you can't do and take it for granted. Good on you for not doing that :)

Hehehe... That reminds me of a good, old song by Rage Against the Machine... :)

And you are the only one who can LIMIT yourself, your freedoms, and your possibilities!

This is so true - I only started to realise this in the recent years. Growing up, we were all taught the "template" way to live life, study hard, get a degree, work 9 to 6 until retirement age, etc. People don't spend enough time to think about what they actually want, and most of them rather go with the flow (which of course isn't wrong too).

It looks like it goes with the years... 😃 As we are getting more mature, we realize what means more for us, and make priorities... That includes viewing the world differently, and our limits are getting pushed, as we realize we can do much more than we expect!

How good that you already have the strength to take this long walk, it's a good sign!!

Most of what "happens to us" only happens in our mind... we are the ones who set the most limits. There is a very beautiful story by Jorge Bucay that is about what you reflected, I found it translated into English here, you will like it.

By the way, I would also have pounced on merengue without thinking about the photographs. 🤣🤣

I loved the story! And kind of recognized myself in it... a lot...

That's what's happening to you, Damian. You live inside the limits of a memory of a Damian that doesn't exist anymore, the one that never made it.

Thank you for sharing! 🙏
