A Walk Around Charbonneau
Charbonneau is an upscale planned private community in Wilsonville, Oregon near Portland. I had the oppurtunity to take a walk around this lovely and well established neighborhood while visiting family last week. Spring was in full bloom and there was even some historical sights to be seen. Follow along as I take a Wednesday Walk. 🚶 🙂
The development was named for Jean Baptiste Charbonneau, the son of Sacagawea.
It is a well maintained community and as you can see the colors were bursting out all over.

As I started my walk along the main road through the development I came across one of the historical buildings. This is the old well house built in 1926 when this planned development was still a dairy and turkey farm.
It sounds like the farmer was quite generous with his water and was willing to share with neighbors.
Continuing on down the path.
A rhododendron starting to bloom...
And one in full bloom.
Not to be outdone an azalea nearby was showing off its full magnificence.
The canopy of leaves was just beginning its mission of providing shade by blocking the sun's rays.
For now it was providing a tapestry of light, shadows, hues of greens and blues for me to capture.
The journey back was full of yet more spectacular scenery.
Finally back to my starting point I take a rest under an amazing dogwood tree.
