A couple days ago, we had beautiful sunny weather with temperatures in the sixties. I needed to get out and spend some time in nature, so I went to Swanton, Vermont, which is where the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail begins. The whole trail extends 93 miles across northern Vermont and I only walked a short portion. I parked in the Ronald F. Kilburn Transportation museum and walked across the street to the bridge that runs across the Missisquoi river. This bridge led to a path within lush green trees and beautiful spring wildflowers. I continued along the path which led to the middle of town and was surrounded by buildings and houses. I crossed the street and continued down the trail for a short while until I turned around and headed back toward the bridge. It was a peaceful spring walk and just what I needed on my day off.
