An Eventful but Successful Wednesday Walk
Today was a Wednesday that felt like a real Wednesday, everything was very eventful. Here in Venezuela we call a powerful rain El Cordonazo de San Francisco, and we refer to the cordon of that saint, since it coincides with the day of his commemoration and always, but always falls this torrential rain with lightning and thunder that wreaks havoc in the city, it is fixed every year. What is never fixed is the date hahaha, it can be the day of the saint, before or after, but always close. Obviously I do not believe in that, it is just one of the powerful rains of the season that coincides with the beginning of October and popularly this legend has been passed from generation to generation.
Of course we don't have this in mind when we leave home, and I want to think that nobody is so superstitious not to leave home or go out prepared for the Cordonazo, so when I left the choir rehearsal at noon I took my girl to have lunch and walk together, thinking about my publication for the community, but suddenly everything changed and it started to drizzle and little by little the rain was increasing. We arrived just in time to a popular shopping mall in Caracas, it's called El Recreo, as soon as we entered the lightning broke out and the rain burst. I still got my feet wet because my shoes allow water to pass through from above for some reason; I felt super uncomfortable and very stressed, but to my surprise, the mall was practically empty and that's where my Wednesday Walk started.
I was very motivated to see the place so empty of people and I thought that all that space was for me and my girl to enjoy. I had to get rid of the bad mood, so I bought some shoes and socks, they are nice, but not what I usually buy, obviously I looked for the cheapest because I needed to have my feet dry, the sound of thunder indicated me that we would be stuck in the mall for a while. Once I put on my new shoes we started to walk around the place holding hands and taking lots of pictures that on a normal crowded day we wouldn't be able to.
It was nice to do my walk alone with Jhoxiris for a change, at the food fair there is a path just like a road and we walked along it. Unlike other times I was not alone with my thoughts, but I connected with her because we were both so clear, it had been a long time since we had such a nice time in a place where life forced us to be. There is a part of the mall that I love, and I hadn't been here for years, which is a replica of the Statue of Liberty and a bridge. Nowadays I don't find it so striking, but the first time I came here 10 years ago it caused me a lot of impact and emotion, I have still taken some pictures for you to see it.
We were not even hungry because we had just had lunch, so we really walked all the floors to see what good things there were and that we could take advantage of later, however when we got to the top there was the movie theater and that was the best thing of the afternoon, I asked Jhoxi if we were going to watch a movie and wait for the rain to pass and he said yes, nothing like those moments that are born out of the blue, I never thought that today we would see a good movie, it is called "Sounds of Freedom" (Sonidos de Libertad) which in fact left me very impressed, but that is a story for another post...
Beautiful Place and Thanks for sharing!
You know, I grew up across from the "Statue of Liberty" in NJ!
Amazing to see, someplace else!
I lived in Europe 21 years and never saw anything like it!
Have a Great rest of the week!
Stay Blessed, Happy, and Safe!

Hi! Nice to meet you through Hive. You know, my dream is to get to know New York, specifically Manhattan. Right now I'm in a musical group that travels a lot, but in 10 years I haven't seen them repeat cities and they already went to New York when I was not yet part of the institution, although I hope that someday it will happen again. For now I have to wait, unless one day life allows me to do it on my own. Thanks for visiting and commenting on my post, I really appreciate it...
I wish you luck on your dream to go to NY. I grew up (till 17) 25 minutes outside of New York City. Interesting place where things happen fast, and may make no sense at all - to me.
However you may have better experiences.
I am wishing You much luck 🍀 and I personally know all things are possible. I have seen more of the world than most can imagine and nobody would have thought it possible.
Have an Amazing Weekend,
And Stay Blessed, Happy, and Safe!

And "keep playing guitar"!🎸
The band will get you around, I got lucky and played through Central Europe myself, along with NY/NJ.
I was also surprised by the rain on my Wednesday. When I was on my way back. Your pictures are great, plus you managed to make the most of your outing with your girl. I hope you continue showing me more of Venezuela, I don't know if I'll ever go there but it looks great.
Hello friend, thank you very much!. There is always something to show of our beautiful nation, rather this post does not do it honors like others I have done in the past highlighting the nature and architecture of the capital and my hometown. I am sure I will continue to share much more and I hope you can agree with it...
Surely if
The rain still made for a great time at the mall. Sometimes the weather is not what we want it to be, but that's not a disadvantage.... I loved the walk, seeing this statue.
The mall looks great and if there are few people, even better haha.
Food and cinema is a very good plan. I'm glad you had such a great time!
Hugs @jesuslnrs 😀
Yes, the whole ride went better than I expected, although it didn't look promising at the beginning. Of course having my feet dry played an important role in my mood. Definitely with our mind we control everything around us, in the past this would have been a shit day hahahaha...
We are the ones who change bad days into good ones, the little big things in life.😀
glad you made it to the mall before the heavy rain even if your feet got wet
such a cool mall and love that replica of the Statue of Liberty
Thanks for joining the Wednesday Walk :)
The important thing is to want to have a pleasant time and make it possible hehe. I love that replica too, it's the closest I've been able to see it. Thank you for your support brother, happy day!...
