#Wednesday Walk - Daybreak at Wilson's Wharf

This post is for the #wednesdaywalk challenge and the #makemesmile challenge collaboration. This collaboration initially took place once a month, but due to its popularity, @tattoodjay (of the #wednesdaywalk) and @elizacheng (of #makemesmile) decided to make it a weekly thing.

If you want to know more about the rules, visit this week's post by @tattoodjay where you will find all the rules at the bottom of his post after you've enjoyed his beautiful photos from his walk.

Last weekend, I wanted to get some early morning photos.

So, we decided to get some daybreak photos. And I thought a good place to get some good photos would be Wilson's Wharf.

Wilson's Wharf is located inside Durban Harbor. We arrived there just before sunrise and there was already enough light to start taking photos.

I took the next photo with the color of the sun starting to become visible behind the city buildings in the background.

I liked the boat's reflection that I could see in the water in the next photo.

The colors of the sun became more and more visible in the background with every moment...

As you can see, I was standing where the majority of the privately owned boats are docked, although, some charter companies also dock their boats here, from where they take guess out on pleasure cruises.

But behind me, was the car parking area. I walked across the parking area to some open ground, from where I had a nice view of the harbor and also the other part of Wilson's Wharf higher up where the main entertainment area is.

In the next photo, you can see the entertainment area (the blue building) of Wilson's Wharf in the distance across the water, with the Durban Sugar Mill (brown building) behind it.

Zooming in, little by little, on the entertainment area on the other side...

From here, I also had a nice view over the harbor.

We had to go down this road to get to the other side of Wilson's Wharf where the main entertainment area is, with the majority of charter companies, restaurants, etc...

Halfway across, I stopped to take this photo, looking out over the harbor.

I wanted to get to the other side, to get a better view of the early morning sunrise.

And as we got to the other side and I looked back, we've made it just in time.

From here I walked through the entertainment area (with everything still closed), to where some more boats are docked.

I looked back to get some more photos of the sunrise from here.

Clearly, the birds also enjoyed the arrival of a new day...

Our oldest daughter loves about 10 minutes away from here. So, from here we left to have a nice family breakfast with them.

And that's it for today, folks.

Thank you for reading my post. I do appreciate it!

The morning just worked out perfectly! I thought I was going to be too late, as we left home a little later than I had planned. But I decided not to start rushing... As we entered the city area, every traffic light just turned green as we approached and it felt like we arrived just at the right time.

I then took the first photos of the boats and decided to go to the other end of the wharf. As I turned around to see if I can start seeing the first signs of the sun rising, the sun made its first appearance from behind the city buildings...

It was amazing...lol.

Thank you for your positive feedback, @coquicoin! I do appreciate it!

Gorgeous photos, it looks like it was a really lovely walk. I love how the surface of the water looks almost like glass in the first few. There is always something special about catching the sunrise 😊

Rest, rest, rest... I believe that is one of the best medicines you can take/use...plenty of rest. I am guilty of this myself...as soon as I start feeling better, I get active again...and just end up giving one step forward and two backward...lol.

Enjoy your evening, @littlebee4👋👍!

Early morning walk is amazing! Wow! I love the sunrise photos you shared. Plus it's great to have a walk this early as there are barely people out in the streets. LOL! It's so good you have lots of beautiful places to see and visit where you are. I'm thankful that you share them here too. I feel like I'm taking a tour with every story you share. An advance happy weekend!

The last 4-5 photographs are more beautiful than the others (to me at least).

It is good to wake up before the sunrise and enjoy the dawn. Do you do it regularly, Alberts?

Hi, @hafiz34.

I'm up by 5 am every morning. But I don't get out every morning to take photos. I would have the odd day during the week sometimes, but mostly it is over weekends that I take my photos...not always at sunrise over the weekends, as I try to take it a bit easier over weekends, but when I do get the opportunity, I do like to get out, taking photos before sunrise over weekends too.

I'm glad you liked the last 5 photos. I must admit, I enjoyed taking those photos of the sunrise.
