#Wednesday Walk - A Relaxing Walk in the Durban Botanic Gardens.
This post is for the #wednesdaywalk challenge and the #makemesmile challenge collaboration. This collaboration initially took place once a month, but due to its popularity, @tattoodjay (of the #wednesdaywalk) and @elizacheng (of #makemesmile) decided to make it a weekly thing.
If you want to know more about the rules, visit this week's post by @tattoodjay where you will find all the rules at the bottom of his post after you've enjoyed his beautiful photos from his walk.
We went to the Durban Botanic Gardens for our last walk over the past weekend.
Our oldest daughter joined us for the outing. We also took our oldest granddaughter and our grandson along.
Leaving the parking area, this is the scene you find just before you enter the gardens at the main gate.

In general, I was disappointed in the level of maintenance inside the Durban Botanic Gardens.
But, there were still plenty of beautiful scenes to capture a photo or two...
We don't visit these gardens often, but every time we go there, I am fascinated by this gigantic tree...

I liked this scene. Having some fun, I played around a bit, framing the building at the top of the hill with the tree...lol.

Focusing more on the scene in front of me...

They are busy preparing the gardens for the Christmas season, putting up all kinds of decorations and lights.

Santa is still allowing his deer to stroll around a bit...lol.

In the middle of the gardens, there is this section that is well kept and they had the sprinklers running at the time...

Due to the sprinklers being on, all entrances to this area were blocked off, but I managed to get some photos.
Below are two photos of one of the entrances to this area.
I thought it would make nice photos...

A nice walkway just below this area is also nicely decorated.

More decorative lights...

Another beautiful scene can be seen close to the middle of the gardens.

Higher up in the Durban Botanic Gardens, the "Garden of the Senses" can be found.

Entering the Garden of the Senses.

Approaching the center of the Garden of the Senses, looking at the "eye of water".

Water is constantly bubbling out at the top, flowing/running down the ball (eye) into the fountain around it. Yes, in the photo it looks like it might be patterns in the metal, but it is the water flowing down into the fountain below.

While my wife and my daughter were relaxing on a little bench and the kids were playing and entertaining themselves, I enjoyed a nice walk taking photos.
But I wasn't alone... This guy decided to join me in the Garden of the Senses...lol.

I went back to my family.
I'm not one for city life or being in a city...but as I sat down on the bench next to my wife and I looked up, I was reminded that we were in the city indeed...

And with that, we come to the end of today's post.
Thank you for reading my post! I do appreciate it!

Good morning dear friend @jacoalberts how are you?
A botanical garden is a good place for a family visit, I regret that not all of the place has been well preserved, although it must be said that this does not take away from the beauty of the place.
Beautiful shots, appreciate you sharing with us.
Good day, @jlufer! I am well, thanks for asking you! How are you?
Yes, it was lovely to spend the day there as a family! I'm glad you enjoyed my photos! I appreciate your feedback and thank you for your support!
Heh, it's weird to see Santa's deers on grass :))

Lovely place. It seems like a quiet place to hang out. Thank you for sharing interesting photos again. The Garden of the Senses is fascinating. I think it's a really lovely place to explore. Must look good at sundown with all the lights being installed. :D Happy #thankfulThursday!

Of course, @jacoalberts, you're most welcome! Thank you! Much appreciated! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙
I love visits to botanic gardens, so I thank you for sharing your adventures at this one. I'm sorry that the state of the garden was somewhat poor. Gardens take a lot of work over time to maintain well, and things can get out of hand fast when there aren't enough people to do such work. The space still looks lovely, and I'm glad that you and your family still had a nice time. I'm with you on not being into cities! Have a great new week, @jacoalberts! 😁🙏💚✨🤙
I'm glad to hear you also love visits to botanic gardens and that you enjoyed the photos of our visit to this one! Yes, there is a lot of work going into maintaining these gardens indeed. And as you saw, there were still many areas that we could go to which were beautiful and we did enjoy it very much.
Yup... I'm not built for city life. I'm glad to hear you are with me on that one😅👍!
You must have a great week too, @tydynrain!
Yep, indeedy! That's really good to hear that you and your family did have a great time there!
Oh my yes, I can't do cities any more! I appreciate that, as there don't seem to be many like that!
Thanks so much, @jacoalberts! I hope that your new week is truly exceptional! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙
