A Glimpse of Rangamati
I am facing a busy time because of my research. Last Saturday I went for data collection related to research. I visited Rangamati which is one of the most beautiful places in my country.
The destination was approximately more than 60 km far from my location. So the first thing I had to reach Oxygen (location name) and buy bus tickets for my destination. It was the time of Ramadan and fasting was compulsory. During the time of journey and data collection, I might become sick, as I feel dizzy when I become weak. For safety, I have taken one of my best friends to go with me.
We started our journey at 7.00 a.m. Within 2 hours we reached to destination. The surrounding environment was beautiful but the road was risky it belonged to hill areas. Fortunately, we reached to destination without any kind of difficulties.
Nearby place of fish landing center people were busy unloading ice from trucks. Those ices are used to preserve fish during the time of transportation.
I entered in fish landing center to collect data from fishermen. Unfortunately, the fishermen were not available there. I also realized that I needed to go to the middle of the lake to meet with fishermen.
After so many difficulties we found the boat to reach the fisherman for face-to-face interviews. To be honest, I needed to pay a good amount of money to hire a boat but enjoying the beauty of nature from both was magical and I really enjoyed the boat journey. Throw the boat I visited several boats where fisherman was busy with their fishing activity.
I tried to collect more data from fishermen as much as I could. To collect data we needed to visit from one boat to another boat and the distance was not so close. We tried to reach every possible boat to ask some questions related to my research from fishermen.
Fortunately, most of the fishermen were very friendly and all of them gave all the required data in a smiley face. I realized that they were not earning too much but they are like happy person and their behavior towards me was pretty good.
I spent more than 1.30 hours to collect data from the fishermen. To be honest, I have never ridden on a boat for so long time. Even if it cost me some money but I was quite satisfied with the boat journey.
After collecting data from fishermen I met with one of the marketing officers of BFDC who was very much helpful to me. He was and ex-student of my department and he also tried his best to help me to provide necessary data.
Again I visited to the famous market which is known as Bonorupa market. The market was indeed huge. After collecting data from retailers from the market I visited the whole market and I have seen many new things on the market.
At the end part of the market I saw there was a floating market means people selling various kinds of fruits from both and it was really beautiful in my eyes and I had and seen that kind of market anywhere.
I was done with the market and decided to return, I noticed two people were playing chess in a place of market and it was quite interesting in my eyes. One person was reading the newspaper and two dogs were taking rest.
Finally, I returned to the bus counter. I returned home safely but I was totally exhausted because of all the work I had done without taking a single drop of water as I was fasting. It was a pleasant journey for me. It was a new experience for me.

Congratulations, your post has been added to Pinmapple! 🎉🥳🍍
Did you know you have your own profile map?
And every post has their own map too!
Want to have your post on the map too?
Thank you.
IT is an important job that you are making, I remember doing that also with the local fisherman community to educate them about the dangers of using fishing nets to dolphins and other sea animals.
Hehe. You have that kind of experience and I think you can also understand about my work better than others also.
Thank you for encouraging me🥰.
Thanks for joining the Wednesday walk and Have a good day
It's my pleasure.
Wow...on a research level and data collection..this is nice. And I hope those fishermen was able to give you every information needed for your project. Really..I will be scared to enter the boat 🚢⛵... viewing it alone, I feel like I am diving into the ocean for my last day on earth hahaha 🤣😂
The city seems to have lots of goodies at their market
Looks like a great adventure for you and your friend on this project
Nice video editing
Well done @intishar
The fishermen were quite friendly and thanks to the boatman we hired because all of those fishermen were known people to him and it made things easier for us. I love the ocean enjoying the view from the boat is very beautiful.

👏 Keep Up the good work on Hive ♦️ 👏
It's great to see your explore as much as you indulge in your project research.
This are beautiful sight to behold and I'm amazing by the beauty of nature around you.
Great to see you go along with your friends for safety reasons as you complain about your health, they being there would go along way.
Thanks for gracing our sight with this.
The place is beautiful and I think the are still many places in the location to explore. I hope someday I will give more time there to explore more. The natural beauty impressed me also. Although it cost me a good amount of money but It healed my soul.

Interesting walk with interesting views . Those melons are sure sweet.. the pineapples seem tiny though hehe
I bought watermelon and pineapples for my home and both were sweet. The good thing is that I bought those things at a very cheap price.

You enjoyed sitting in the boat and collecting data. I have been in the boat many times and enjoyed it. Whenever I get a chance to sit in a boat, I don't waste the opportunity
A boat ride is always interesting and I think we should not miss that kind of opportunity anytime. In the past, I enjoyed boat rides many times but never for a long time like I did on Saturday.

Glad to see you going out there and exploring. The research must have been quite an experience.
So when you fast, you cannot drink water?
Hmm. I need to go to the field to collect data. In fact today I had a plan to visit another place for the same purpose but I need to drop the plan because in recent times the area situation is not stable and there is the security issue.
In the time of fasting, we can't drink anything. Not even a single drop of water.

That sounds dangerous. Be careful then if you're going out. Collecting data is surely tough, especially when you have to do it face-to-face with your respondents.
Forgive my ignorance, I thought you were allowed.🫣
Nothing to worry. I know that based on religion the fasting rituals are different.
Thanks. And yeah, that might be the case :)
