Senderismo en el cerro Las Letras (Aragua, Venezuela) con amanecer incluído ⛰️🏃🏻♀️🌅😍 / Hiking on Las Letras hill (Aragua, Venezuela) with sunrise included ⛰️🏃🏻♀️🌅😍
Hello hivers! On March 1st, we received a new call from the mountain, and of course, we couldn't resist the temptation to start the month with a hike 🥾 ⛰️ 🏃😁. This hike was organized by a new group we hadn't hiked with before. We had to be there at 6:00 AM, so my sister and I left home at 5:40. There's no public transportation at that hour, so we walked to the meeting point, about a 15-20 minute walk, so we arrived already warmed up, hehehe. We waited a few minutes for the group to arrive, and at 6:15, we started hiking. It was still dark because it wasn't dawn yet.

Although it's still summer (dry season), and the sun is strong and it's quite hot during the day, the weather turns very cool at night with strong breezes, and it stays that way until 7 or 8 in the morning, making it a very pleasant temperature for hiking. Getting up early has its rewards, and one of them is being able to enjoy the sunrise 🌅😍, and there's nothing better than doing it while climbing the mountain and the cool morning wind caresses your face 🌬️😌.

My sister and I had already done this route in 2022, but the landscape was totally different because it was July, winter (rainy season), and everything was green, unlike now when everything is dry, not only because of the heat and because it's summer, but also because of the forest fires caused by irresponsible people 😤😓.

This hill is called Las Letras (The letters) or Las Tres Cruces (The three Crosses). The route is 2 km to the top, a constant uphill climb with a medium-high difficulty level. The terrain is quite uneven with crags of smooth stones and some that come loose, so carrying a walking stick very useful, especially for the moment to going down.

On this mountain there are several tree species, one in particular is quite fire-resistant, so much so that you can see its trunk damaged by fires but its leaves remain a vibrant green. There are also many agave plants and other species I don't know their names.

I always stop to appreciate the landscape, connect with the surroundings, and I also get distracted taking photos, so when I got to the top there were already several people there chatting and having breakfast, so I sat down to drink water and have breakfast enjoying the beautiful view and the still fresh breeze, my sister had already eaten so she accompanied me.

After a few minutes of rest, we started taking photos and observing the landscape from different angles. In this city there are many mountains in all four cardinal points and it's a real pleasure to be able to enjoy from the top this spectacle that nature gives us.

It was already 8:30 AM, the sun was getting stronger and the temperature was rising 🌡️🥵 so it was time to start heading down. Every steep climb means an even steeper descent, you have to be careful with every step and pay close attention to the path. Carrying a stick helps a lot, it's like having a third leg, hahaha. I don't have a trekking stick, so I'm using the stick of a broom 🧹😁😂.

The dry grass sometimes turns slippery, and there were unstable rocks that came loose when stepped on. One of the participants stepped on one and apparently twisted her ankle, it swelled up and hurt. When I asked her what she felt, she said she heard a "crack" 😬, which is almost always a sign of a sprain or fracture. Obviously, she couldn't walk in that condition, so three guys from the group took turns helping her down. They used various techniques but it wasn't easy because the descent was steep, and any slip could have caused all three of them to fall together. The girl was in increasing pain and kept wanting to sit down and rest. We still had quite a way to go to reach the bottom, so I passed them because it was getting hotter.

😂😂😂, you should try and make the effort to get up early to enjoy nature 🥱😃🌳🍄🍃⛰️🏃🏻♀️😁. I'm sure you're gonna love it 😉😎.
I feel either really sick or really mad if I get up "too early" (which is basically any time before 7am) x_x if we're going for summer hikes we do try to go a little bit earlier so we don't get baked but later morning winter hikes are quite pleasant ^_^
Later morning hikes are not very recommended here with this hot tropical weather 🥵🥴😂😂😂. The sooner, the better. Winter is different 🌬️❄️🤷🏻♀️.
Una ruta exigente y bellísima 😍, ¡la disfrutamos! Muy buenas fotos 👏🏻 😉.
Si, me encanta este cerro 😁, muchas gracias @sofathana 😘😸🤗.
