A walk through the Labyrinth of the Orange Trees and the little pigs!

Hello walkers and friends!

A new Wednesday and a new walk, because every time we go for a walk we discover new paths, places, landscapes, perspectives or unique moments. There is always something different, and each step involves going a little further, something more to tell and some more photos to show. And walking, we explore, we discover, we relax, we feel good, many things that a simple walk can mean.

Today a walk full of surprises, discoveries and unique paths, in which we almost feel lost, and I share this one here in the community #WednesdayWalk hosted by @tattoodjay

There are recurring, habitual walks, those that are familiar to us, we almost go in automatic mode, we could almost go with our eyes closed... but we would lose so many images that it is not worth it. There are always corners that we miss and others that call our attention, each day can be different, just like each day the light and the clouds are different. And sometimes we can choose a different way...

But my last walk has been really different. At the end of the urban environment you come to a path, a small road along which at times several cars pass quickly one after the other. But then, there in front, what else is there? Well, I didn't know because I always go along the coast, looking at the sea and listening to how the waves move with the wind. But there is another way to traverse what was a part of a river bed now full of vegetation, and even more. Because it can hardly be seen from the outside, from the sidewalk of the city, so it's time to go inside with curiosity.

And I see that the only road is the only opening in those orange groves, next to a country house, will it be a public road or private way? I didn't know and we went ahead to see what's up. It is not what there is but the aroma of orange blossom that flooded everything, with the rays of the afternoon sun that reflected in those leafy tops of the orange trees in which we see that some last orange is still around.

We continue as far as possible, and suddenly some big trees with fruits, what are they? They are loquats growing, fantastic. And at that place we don't know where that path ends, on the sides there are barbed wire fences (I imagine to prevent theft) and in front of a fence. But when you arrive, you can turn to the right, and another dirt road appears before us, and at the end, the same thing, it seems that another path, a wall, can we continue?

The sunlight moves fast, faster than us on those paths surrounded by vegetation, greenery and many crops under a still blue sky, where the moon is already there! Can you see it?As if we had suddenly been transported to another natural world where we also find around little cute flowers, and we are just a few minutes from the asphalt.

Feeling of disorientation, we get lost following the only possible path. We turn left, again the same, this seems like a labyrinth without end, surrounded by still some rural houses among aromatic trees and oranges already fallen by the grass. Do we turn again when we reach the corner? And again?

Surprise! I see a small animal in the distance, my myopia thinks it is a dog, but the proximity corrects me, it is a little pig that remains paralyzed when it sees human movement behind the wire fence. But suddenly the curiosity is stronger in more pigs, many more just come to say hello. The orange grove becomes Piggyland.

A contrast that is hidden by the large vine plant that covers the corner through which we turn again, while we browse through the iron doors with chains, behind more orchards, more crops, more life.

There is less green life but still color in another section when you turn left again, a nice bougainvillea and an old graffiti on a wall, until you reach what seems to be the end, the exit from the maze, more vegetation, more landscape and now also some forest, while in the distance we remember civilization again with a large building from the other town on the other side.

A walk that has been undoubtedly different, fun and curious. We have crossed an unknown part that was not even known to be crossed, to go out to another area that will also have to be explored with enthusiasm and also a lot of curiosity. New discoveries and new walks.

Thanks for reading! Have a surprising and nice day.

Happy Wednesday!

I think it was 1973 when I first was in Valencia.
My mother just wanted to travel, and three little children wouldn't keep her. She built a camper, and we went.
I heard the oranges were extraordinarily good. Of course I have tasted them myself, but I was three years old. I don't really remember those specific oranges. 😎
We picked them ourselves. So, I guess we just stole them from an orange grove. 😁

Ohh so you were there in orange groves! Walking through those places we feel time never changed anything. And yes the best oranges come from this region 😉

I think it's the soil. It looks different. It has a specific color, so it must contain its own special mix of minerals. It must be typical for that region, and really good soil for oranges. 🙂

An interesting walk that had unknown surprises. I got the feeling of leaving one place that is known to end up somewhere that is much different. From buildings to vines to fruits to pigs. All wrapped up with fences at some points than the great wide open as the fence line ends. A walk of layers kind of reminds me of Neapolitan ice cream, haha. I guess the warmer weather here recently has got me thinking of ice cream.

Yeah it has been an interesting walk, I usually take the sea path but I saw a lot of green from outside and I was curious thinking that "it must be a path to arrive to the other side and to connect with the other town there" I found one. Jaja your mind is focus on ice cream, that must be a sign or something, here I eat ice cream always even in winter with frozen hand taking the cup, no matter the weather, always welcome but for now that is warmer it would be better! Enjoy 🍧
