A walk in the snow

Do you like winter?
A question I never had a clear answer to.

How can I not love the moments when I look out the window as snowflakes cover the branches of the trees below my window, the roofs of houses and buildings or the clearings and green areas in the city where I live.

I would probably like winter even more if I didn't live in such a big city.
That I am in some nature, on a mountain or a forest. Although, the question is, maybe winter in nature would be too wild and dangerous for me (avalanches, power outages, wild animals...).

I only know one thing - In the city, I like the winter and the falling snow only in the first few hours, when I dare to leave the warm home for a short walk. I like to walk on untrodden snow, which has not yet started to melt and which has not been cleared on the paths.

But only I like walking on unclean paths, the other residents of the building are not very enthusiastic about stepping on snow, so we organize ourselves to clean it.

And what happens after a few hours, when you need to go to work or go shopping and when the snow has already started to melt and when the unswept paths become ice like on an ice rink?

Well, that's when the part of winter that I don't like starts.
I still walk, but very carefully, because in the hilly parts of the city, it is necessary to move by stairs, stairs that are bound by ice or look for an alternative. Try to go down by the stairs, through the snow.
That's how I combined this walk, I walked on icy paths, on icy stairs, and I also tried walking down the hill.
That walk by the stairs, through the snow, did not end well for me, my pants and gloves.

Beneath the snow, there was melted earth, so I came out of the fall with mud on my hands and pants on my back.
I didn't want to try cleaning the car. On my car, as well as on the other neighbor's cars, the ice that was formed due to the rain covered every inch of our cars.

Cleaning would take a lot of time, so I decided to go to the guests by public transport.
While I was waiting for the bus, I took pictures of some interesting details: the rain falling on the branches and covering the pine needles, the slopes with trees like in a mountain, and the children using the snow that remained and thus enjoying the winter magic.

If I were still a small child, I would probably also like this moment of winter, when everything is slippery, because then it would be easier to sled down the hill.

Like this, old for a sled, as I take careful steps in the #wednesdaywalk, I hold on to the ice-covered handrails and only one thing is on my mind: "Don't fall, again".
I hope that I won't and that my walk this Christmas day (we celebrate Christmas according to the Julian calendar, January 7) will be successful and that I will finish it without any fractures 😊.
