Barcelona Walk November 2023: Autumn in a Spanish icon

Hello my dear friends of Hive and Wednesday Walk, today I will take you on a walk through Barcelona where I will show you some characteristic spaces of the city, but also some picturesque streets that although in the center, are not exactly the most attractive at a tourist level.

This past Wednesday I was doing a walk in search of thermal clothing to take to the animal shelter, which is in the middle of the mountain, so while I was shopping quickly, I was taking some pictures to share with you, because I find an exquisite urban landscape, and in the autumn of the city is very easy to appreciate the play of light and shadows that are generated with the sun. I was lucky that it was a sunny morning.

Caminata por Barcelona noviembre 2023: otoño en un ícono español

Hola mis queridos amigos de Hive y de Wednesday Walk, hoy me los llevaré a una caminata por Barcelona en donde les mostraré algunos espacios característicos de la ciudad, pero también algunas callecitas bien pintorescas que aunque en pleno centro, no son precisamente lo más atractivo a nivel turístico.

Este pasado miércoles estuve haciendo una caminata en busca de ropa térmica para llevarme al refugio de animales, que está en medio de la montaña, así que mientras hacía las compras rápidamente, fui tomando algunas fotos para compartir con ustedes, pues me parece un paisaje urbano exquisito, y en el otoño de la ciudad es muy sencillo apreciar los juegos de luces y sombras que se generan con el sol. Tuve la suerte de que fue una mañana soleada.

The city is beautiful, and you can see that everything is already coloring with Christmas. The spirit of this celebration has reached November, so much so that companies are already starting to celebrate their parties around this time.

People walk happily through Barcelona and I have felt the city more cosmopolitan than ever, it is really about walking and listening to different languages, all fluent and all indicating the openness of Barna society, this part of Spain that attracts so many tourists, students, migrants and volunteers.

La gente camina feliz por Barcelona y he sentido a la ciudad más cosmopolita que nunca, realmente se trata de caminar y escuchar diferentes idiomas, todos fluidos y todos indicando la apertura de la sociedad de Barna, este punto de España que atrae tanto a turistas, estudiantes, emigrantes y voluntarios.

I listened over there to a group of kids exchanging Spanish with English, Catalan, French and a language unknown to me. They all spoke within the same group and seemed to have their own way of understanding each other in this apparent disorganization.

What a delight to witness that. It is one of the things I love most about traveling. The languages, the people, the cultural exchange. I think it generates growth at all levels and that is fascinating.

Escuché por allí a un grupo de chicos que intercambiaban el español con el inglés, el catalán, el francés y un idioma desconocido para mí. Todos hablaban dentro del mismo grupo y parecían tener su propia manera de entenderse en esa aparente desorganización.

Qué exquisitez presenciar eso. Es una de las cosas que más me gusta de viajar. Los idiomas, la gente, el intercambio cultural. Creo que genera un crecimiento en todos los niveles y eso es algo fascinante.
