The beach, gardens, flowers, palm trees, lots of colour and pleasant chats on a long walk.
When a walk begins, we often don’t know how it will unfold, let alone how it will end.

My walks aren’t always solitary; they’re often accompanied by good company, excellent conversation and different views of the city. A walk can start at a particular point and end a long way from it. But sometimes I don’t even realise how time flies whilst I’m out and about, and that happens when the walk is so enjoyable that I even forget to take photos.
It’s not that taking those photos is a must, but there are so many beautiful things to see, and the city always offers lovely scenery both within and beyond its boundaries, so it’s worth capturing those moments whenever the opportunity arises.

The beaches are packed with people at the moment; the intense heat has meant that people prefer to cool off and have a good time in the water, with family or friends. What’s more, the city is teeming with tourists everywhere you look. This year I chose to head further afield to enjoy the beach, an area which, whilst it may have its share of tourists, has a more family friendly atmosphere, and is also a spectacular spot to set off on lovely walks, with plenty of people doing just that.

It’s a beach where you’ll find boats along the shore, people strolling, parasols everywhere and the laughter of children, whilst on the other side there are houses and restaurants, and the atmosphere is very different from the city centre. It’s much more peaceful.

On this walk, after quite a while, I reached the seafront promenade and, there, the famous colourful cube that marks the location of the Pompidou Centre, on Pier One.

I crossed the two avenues; this garden is a must-see and a lovely walk to reach the place I had in mind. There are always rose beds in beautiful colours. It’s a garden with a unique design.

I’d prepared a delicious terere, which is mate but made with water, juice and ice. My friend Loli and I were out for a stroll, and she loves pineapple juice. It was very hot, so we took refuge in the beautiful natural surroundings of the castle gardens, seeking out the many trees, plenty of shade and the cool, refreshing atmosphere.
We spent a long time there chatting and sharing life experiences; it always seems as though these conversations never end, that there’s always something to share, as if everything we say helps us get to know each other better and better. We have similar experiences, even though there’s a big age difference, but age doesn’t matter in a friendship. You feel it in your soul.

This is one of my many favourite spots in the city, not just because it’s near the castle but because of the number of areas you can reach via little staircases; it’s like a beautiful natural maze.
The views of the town hall, the city and the Mediterranean Sea are stunning, and we stayed a while longer chatting and enjoying the fresh air, we really needed that.

We then set off again, heading back to the seafront promenade, which looks so beautiful as the sun goes down. First we strolled through the restaurant area, but it was far too hot there, so we made our way to the ‘Palmeral de las Sorpresas’ area, where the sun had gone down and people, mainly tourists, were out walking.

We noticed a few changes, such as this sign at the end of the promenade. Málaga is a city that’s constantly changing. It’s a commemorative sign honouring the support provided by Spain and recognising the people of this city in the fight for American independence.

This summer has been very unusual for me; so much has happened that I sometimes have no idea what date it is, but this reminded me. We’re just a few days away from the start of the fair, the city’s big fair, and this time they’ve changed all the decorations.
I’m delighted to see so much colour, and although there were workmen busy putting up the decorations at the end of Calle Larios, I walked along the street opposite so I could take this photograph.
It was a long and very beautiful walk, with greenery, the beach, colours and decorations. I enjoyed it immensely. Thank you very much for joining me on this Wednesday stroll. See you soon.

Málaga is an incredible city—especially the vegetation.
Whenever you show us these open spaces, I’m struck by the shrubs and palm trees... the flowers in those gardens make me envious—in a good way—because I’ve never seen those species in my own country. Perhaps the climate doesn't suit them, but believe me, they lend a cinematic elegance to the walkways and gardens.
Your city is beautiful.
When I first arrived in the city, I fell in love with it, and I’m falling more in love with it every day, because it has everything I’d never seen before. I love exploring it and discovering new things, as well as revisiting my favourite spots. Thank you!!
What wonderful stroll with a friend. And to take us along with you was so enjoyable. Thank you.
Every so often we get together and go for a walk or visit art galleries; we have a good chat and have a lovely time. Thank you so much!
That is so nice you have someone to walk with. Wish I could find someone who enjoys walking and talking.
You’ll find them; you just need to get out and about more – that person will come along.
Good morning @avdesing, looking forward to those future pictures from the fair that I'm sure you'll share with us. I have to say the walk was great... I didn't see many tourists.
And although being with such good company can make you forget things like taking photos, it seems to me you took quite a few, and of some very beautiful places... Thanks for this walk.
Have a lovely Wednesday.
She comes with me and knows I take photos for my posts; I also take photos of her so she has a memento of our outings, and if there are lots of tourists, I just steer clear of them!
The fair starts on the 15th... I hope to go at least one day; I didn’t go last year. There are far too many people!! And everyone’s drinking... you know how it is, ha ha ha
You're absolutely right to be wary of tourists... they're a dangerous breed. I even remember a video from the fair, if my memory serves me right.
Greetings to your mom, Loli, and of course, you. Hugs!!
Tranquilo... iré a la feria y sobre todo por las decoraciones que son a todo color!! Muchas gracias serán dados!!🤗
Me quedo tranquilo... ☺️🤗

Hello Amonet.
Your walks are always beautiful and so much fun; like you, I also enjoy walking with others, especially if there's mate and tereré involved.
I love everything about this walk: the gorgeous rose bushes, the beach area, the castle area.
Your photos, as always, are beautiful.
Have a great day.
It was a lovely walk with lots of chats and beautiful spots that helped us beat the heat – thank you so much, Abi! 💗💗💗
This city is full of incredible sights. Those fans look like a beautiful art installation. I also liked how they designed this park with the flowers surrounded by hedges.
Wow!... Awesoma walk and some amazing cityscape shots here @avdesing friend!!!
