Foggy Wednesday Walk until we Discover, by surprise, an Old Wooden Wreck
Hi everyone ! Today we woke up surrounded by fog, we couldn't see ten meters ^^ But that didn't discourage us from going for a walk in the area and I must say that in a way, we were rewarded ! We left by the customs path which overhangs the shore at this place.
The whole forest, mostly conifers on this stretch, was coated in fog and the atmosphere reminded me of Japanese or Chinese landscapes, a bit like the ones you can see on rice paper prints.
We arrived at the end of the Baie de la Vierge, at the small village of Le Yaudet. From here, a sloping road leads to the top of the village. An interesting detail is that this is where the author of the Asterix comic book scenarios would have found his original idea. Indeed, there are Gallo-Roman ruins on this site and traces of human occupation dating back to 8000 BC. But we didn't follow those traces... Not this time at least ^^ And we started our short climb to the top of the village...
Arrival at the Chapel of the Reclining Virgin. This is an old building which has the particularity of having a statue of the Virgin Mary lying down, after giving birth, which is very rare. But when we tried to go inside, we found the door closed. All the other summers it was open, but as if by chance, this time, it was not the case... It's a pity because there are also very beautiful models of ships hanging from the beams of the church and also ex-votos left by the wives of the sailors to wish them a safe journey home... As for us, it will be the occasion to go back there another time, but if it has piqued your curiosity, you can of course start some research ;-)
A little further on, I found this rather interesting rock, which could almost make you think of a megalithic construction, but which is in fact a simple geological formation of granite. Little by little, time and erosion do their work...
Not far from there, we could find a nice viewpoint on the bay, a little bit higher and if you look carefully at the horizon, you can see the sun coming soon and the return of the good weather :) There were also a lot of spider webs full of dewdrops... But I'll spare you my full series ^^
We crossed the hill to the other side and a point of view on the Léguer, the river which goes up to the small town of Lannion... The harbour was still full of mist and we went back down on this side, in the middle of the woods which, every summer, make us think of the forest of Broceliande and plunge us into the atmosphere of the Arthurian legends !
We went up the river until we got close to the shore and it was there that we made this beautiful and completely unexpected discovery... like all real surprises :)
This wreck of a trawler seemed to be waiting for us, at the exact moment when the sun rose as if to celebrate with us this good moment - at this moment, there was even almost too much light to make good pictures and you will understand why some of them are totally overexposed !
This beautiful wooden hull made me dream a lot and we stayed a long time poking around in all directions. I must say that it also inspired me to think about nature and the necessity of progress... Thoughts as I like them, because I wonder if - past the techniques of dental surgeries and other really useful technologies - we wouldn't be better off without all this jumble of entanglements that end up putting Man on the same level as the machine. Personally, I would never accept that!
On the same subject of ancient objects, I recommend the excellent article by @mipiano which you can find here
That's about it for this good walk and what else can we say, except that we came back with the sun on our backs. Once back we had a nice swim and some excellent pizza for dinner !... What more could you ask for ?
I hope you enjoyed reading this article and I look forward to your comments as always :)
I don't know if you've had the chance to see this, but I've recently created a new community Unity Toward Freedom Feel free to check it out and, if you feel like it, to participate soon !

See you soon '
You got a nice lake there and a nice place. I can imagine the church that is similar to those traditional movies. That must be so cold there, given it has fog all over the place.
haha, it's in fact the sea... but it could be seen as a lake too :)
It was not particularly cold, more wet and hot, strangely !
we have had a lot of foggy mornings here, and as you show here fog can give a magical surreal feeling on a walk
