The Poinsettia is The Christmas Flower

Hello nature lovers!

Those very special days are approaching, we are excited about the decorations that we already see everywhere and the ones that we put in our homes. And in addition to the Christmas tree and many other decorations, there is also space for an impressive colorful plant, special and in high demand at this time, right?

The Poinsettia (nice name really) or Christmas Flower (Flor de Pascua also named in Spain) could not be missing, which is officially called "Euphorbia pulcherrima" surely having more names in different places and countries. What do you call her?

Apparently, according to Wikipedia, this beautiful plant has come to us from areas of Mexico and now we appreciate it everywhere.

Those red leaves, because in reality, although they may seem so, they are not flowers but the leaves themselves that acquire that different hue, they are actually bracts, the part of the plant that protects the true flower and that sometimes is not just green like It is usually habitual and changes color.
This plant is one of the best examples, some even look like they are degrading from one color to another, and also in recent years we have also found this "flower" in different shades from light yellow, to pink or white, some even combine all of them at once.

But looking around these days, I wanted a classic Poinsettia, deep red, big leaves, and eye-catching. That together with the rest of the plants it would give more joy to the space, because these are days of joy and plants also help us smile and feel inspired and happy.

And not only at home, but also when we see them outside, now almost everywhere we find large groups and pots with these Christmas flowers, and they make us want to buy more. They are also used in various decorations, with a little creativity you can make very beautiful things.

Red announces that Christmas is coming, and nature also wants to celebrate, and you have to prepare and decorate yourself, decorate everything and not only buy this plant but also know how to take good care of it. Because it is not just a seasonal flower, it can last us much longer than the weeks of Christmas, winter here. It is delicate, it does not like extreme temperatures or many winds, but it does like the sun, always without exceeding it.

In fact the last one I had lasted until the hot summer, but maybe something went wrong and it died, so this year I hope to keep seeing those incredible red leaves, which could well be huge velvet petals, and that it's still there reminding me that, almost any day could be Christmas, we just need to keep our hopes up and keep smiling.

Merry Christmas to all dear Hivers!

Thanks for reading! Have an amazing and colorful day.

There's a lot of these flowers here in my city, in avenues, restaurants, parks, everywhere. And I have to say that they made the city look more beautiful in this season 😍.

Hugs from México!

Ah see, yeah in Mexico! It must be lovely to see a lot everywhere, here there is a bridge called the Bridge of Flowers and it used to be full decorated by these ones. This year I think not and I don't know why, but it was extraordinary.

Abrazos desde España!

I'm planning to buy a Christmas flower, it's beautiful, but I don't have much luck with plants and almost each one of them dies. 😊 I like the photos very much. They are as positive as the thought that every day can be Christmas.😊

I love this plant but it's a bit delicate, last year it survived almost the whole summer! But in the end the hot probably was too much and suddenly it was losing all the leaves. We will see this one... the challenge should be to keep it alive until the next Christmas 😅😅 it's very difficult but it's a pity because it's really pretty. Thanks! Hope you have one, it's something more that reminds us we are at Christmas time ☺

That's nice. Since it's very common, it's not costly I guess
