Calle Crisologo, Ilocos Sur
One of the historical tourist destinations in Luzon, Philippines that you could visit, if you happen to pass by my country try and visit Calle Crisologo in Vigan City, Ilocos Sur. Located in the northern part of the island, about a 7-hour drive from Manila. If you're planning to get on this trip, don't worry it's easy to find travel and tour service like what we did.
We booked the travel about a week before and the tour date was set on a Friday. there are two ways to go about it,
- You can book a private van with the inclusion of tours and lodging.
- You can book the package, where you will be joined by other tourists.
What's the difference? The price, of course, so we chose the one which is practical, and I would suggest doing the same if ever you'll be going on this trip, not unless of course if you're bringing a car.
So we started off from Manila, we went to Mall of Asia in Pasay, from there, we were picked up by the tour van around 10:00 in the evening, and did the 7-hour travel, after a few 'half-asleep' sleep. We arrived in the city around 5 in the morning.

On regular hours, You would see the street packed with people, both tourists, locals, and those office workers. So it was a good thing to be here this early especially if you love taking pictures of scenic places and not people. 😅

I really like how they were able to preserve this place, the brick floor is so nostalgic and it made me think of how it was back in the old days. This was back in the 1800s by the way, the time when the Spanish conquerors used to rule our country.

Did you know that the name Philippines came from the word "Las Filipinas" which was named after the King of Spain during that time? and this was in the 1500s, and they stayed in the country for the next 300 years.

Our ancestors were basically slaves of our own country they were even called indios. Oh well, that's history, In the Philippines today, I bet every single Filipino has Spanish blood in them, I myself have Spanish blood in me, and such names as Dela Cruz, Garcia, Reyes, Ramos, Mendoza, and so on is a very typical surname in the country.

Hmm, thinking of it more, the Elite people in the Philippines are pure Spanish blood like the Ayalas or Zobel, Aboitiz, they own the top companies that are more into necessities like food, real estate, water, and electricity. Even most of the Politician who runs for government position carries the name of the elite Spanish blood Filipino.

"Are we still slaves in our own country??"
Just kidding. 😆 We get paid so I guess it's not slavery and it's now called employment. haha! Hope you enjoyed going back in time with me. #LOL #Comedy
I want to include this in Photofeed contest round 24, Check out their schedule post for different prompt per day and I encourage everyone to join as well!
