In the PhotoFeed Contest - Portrait Photography Round 125 organized by @Photofeed, I tried to share about bathing in the Jim-Jim river, Bandar Baru, Pidie Jaya. In the midst of the gurgling water and the shade of natural rocks, a middle-aged man seemed to enjoy the fresh flow of the Jim-Jim River. Wearing a white shirt wet with clear water, he sat relaxed between large rocks, while rubbing his feet slowly. This scene depicts a simple moment but full of meaning, a natural ritual that has become part of the lives of people in the interior of Aceh and other areas in Indonesia.

Bathing in the river is not just an activity to cleanse the body. For some people, this is a time to be at one with nature, reminisce about the past and refresh the mind. Jim-Jim River, known for its clean water and peaceful atmosphere, is a favorite place for local residents to relieve fatigue and calm down from the hustle and bustle of modern life.

The presence of an old man in the photo that I shared also confirms that this tradition has survived across generations. He seemed to enjoy every drop of water that touched his body, a symbol of human closeness to nature that is timeless.
