Picture A Day - Evening stroll (and a special light)

Evening stroll across the bridge. Made this capture in the last day of May, when the city of St.Petersburg celebrated its birthday. Many cool events fit into the whole evening, and I managed to shoot some (before the camera battery run out and halted me).

This might look for you as an ordinary streetphoto, except of some circumstances; there was a period of several months while the Trinity Bridge was undergoing repairs, and the traffic on the bridge, as well as part of Kamennoostrovsky Prospekt, was stopped - and all this time the space was not empty; the place that was usually occupied by cars was now occupied by pedestrians. (You can see the blurred lights of the car headlights in the background). So, this is not a very ordinary photo, which captured the state of a fragment of the urban perspective at that moment. Walking on a wide bridge, free of cars, was a big piece of unexpected freedom - and a forbidden, but unpunished pleasure.

Это не самое обычное стритфото - есть привходящие обстоятельства, делающие его особенным и памятным для меня. Весной был период нескольких месяцев, когда Троицкий мост проходил через ремонтные работы; движение машин по мосту, а также части Каменноостровского проспекта, было остановлено - и все это время пространство не пустовало. То место, которое обычно занимают машины, теперь заняли пешеходы. (Размытые огни фар машин вы можете увидеть на заднем плане). Так что, это не очень обычное фото, которое запечатлело состояние фрагмента городской перспективы на тот момент. Гулять по широкому мосту, свободному от машин, было большим куском нежданной свободы - и запретным, но безнаказанным удовольствием.
