PhotoFeed Contest - Street Photography Round 128: Hydration [ENG/ESP]

Hydration
Hydration is the act of maintaining adequate moisture in something, or combining some substance with water. In this sense, hydration refers to the amount of water needed by the body of a living being to function properly, and in the case of humans, this amount is at least two liters of water per day.
As I have told in numerous previous posts, every January 14 a multitudinous and traditional activity takes place in the city, which has its origin in a vision that a Sevillian friar had at the beginning of the XVIII century, of the Virgin Mary surrounded by sheep, and which was given the name of Divina Pastora (Divine Shepherdess).
This devotion arrived in Venezuela around 1736 by the hand of Spanish missionaries and priests, and since 1856, its image made of polychrome wood is carried in procession through the streets and avenues of Barquisimeto, until it reaches the Metropolitan Cathedral.
During the 7.50 kilometers of the procession, hundreds of thousands of people accompany her under a usually inclement sun, so the local authorities, as well as private companies with the help of thousands of volunteers, install platforms where they give away oranges, tangerines, as well as drinking water and non-alcoholic soft drinks in plastic containers, so that the parishioners can stay adequately hydrated during the procession.

Hidratación
La hidratación es el acto de mantener la humedad adecuada en algo, o combinar alguna sustancia con agua. En este sentido, hidratar se refiere a la cantidad de agua que necesita el organismo de un ser vivo para funcionar de manera adecuada, y en el caso del ser humano, esta cantidad es de al menos unos dos litros de agua al día.
Como he contado en numerosos posts anteriores, cada 14 de Enero se desarrolla en la ciudad una multitudinaria y tradicional actividad, la cual tiene su origen en una visión que tuvo un fraile sevillano a principios del Siglo XVIII, de la Virgen María rodeada de ovejas, y la cual se le dió el nombre de Divina Pastora.
Esta devoción llegó a Venezuela alrededor de 1736 de la mano de misioneros y sacerdotes españoles, y desde 1856, su imagen elaborada en madera policromada sale de procesión por las calles y avenidas de Barquisimeto, hasta llegar a la Catedral Metropolitana.
Durante el recorrido de unos 7,50 kilómetros de ese día, centenares de miles de personas la acompañan bajo un sol usualmente inclemente, por lo que las autoridades locales, además de empresas privadas con la ayuda de miles de voluntarios, instalan tarimas donde obsequian naranjas, mandarinas, además de agua potable y bebidas refrescantes no alcohólicas en envases de plástico, para que los feligreses puedan mantenerse hidratados de manera adecuada durante la procesión.

La hidratacion en sitios asi es muy importante, las imagenes quedaron genial, representa muy bien el ambiente.
