PhotoFeed Contest - Portrait Photography Round 18

The "dancer with a bright smile" is my entry to the PhotoFeed Contest - Portrait Photography Round 18.

I took the photo in the summer of 2012 with my Nikon D3100 at the Mörbischer Seefestspiele (Mörbisch Lake Festival) in Austria. It shows a colorfully costumed dancer backstage - shortly before his performance on the open-air lake stage. Behind a clown masquerade there is often a thoughtful, melancholic or even tragic character - not so here. With the spontaneous shot I was able to capture the sunny disposition of the artist and the obvious enjoyment he is having with his work.

I'm curious how the photo will be received.

Der „Tänzer mit strahlendem Lächeln“ ist mein Beitrag zum PhotoFeed Contest – Portraitfotografie Runde 18.

Das Foto habe ich im Sommer 2012 mit meiner Nikon D3100 bei den Seefestspielen Mörbisch in Österreich gemacht. Es zeigt einen bunt kostümierten Tänzer Backstage - kurz vor seinem Auftritt auf der Open Air Seebühne. Oft steckt hinter einer Clown-Maskerade ein nachdenklicher, melancholischer oder sogar tragischer Charakter - nicht so hier. Mit der spontan entstandenen Aufnahme konnte ich das sonnige Gemüt des Künstlers und die offensichtliche Freude, die er an seiner Arbeit hat, einfangen.

Ich bin gespannt, wie das Foto ankommen wird.
