Spotting Lapwings and Wildflowers

It was a lovely, warm day for a walk. The weather was just right because it wasn't too hot. I started out by checking out the lapwings in the fields.

There had been some talk on Facebook about lapwings nesting here. People said there were chicks in the field. I kept my eyes open for them but unfortunately, I did not see any baby birds, only adults.

Next, I drove to a local wooded area for a circular walk.

Bright yellow buttercups grew along the path. A busy bee was collecting pollen on a yellow dandelion.

I saw Gaultheria shallon bushes with thick green leaves and a pink wildflower called Herb Robert. Also, there were some delicate white gypsophila blooming. Florists love using this flower.

Deep in the woods, I came across a couple of cool shelters. Someone had used their bushcraft skills to build them out of branches. It was good to see people enjoying nature.

I really like an early morning walk before everyone comes out. It is the perfect way to wake up. Seeing the lapwings, the pretty flowers, the clever bushcraft shelters, and not forgetting the ladybirds on the nettles, made it an interesting start to my day.
