A Circular Walk Around Darwin Forest

avatar

A lovely sunny morning walk around the back of Darwin Forest Campsite. This area has a variety of walks. This one is quite easy.

Now that the flooding from Storm Babet has subsided, we easily parked up in a small layby at the side of the forest (that's if there aren't a lot of dog walkers about).

This short walk is just under three miles and takes you on a circular footpath. You can go off the beaten track and go further afield if you wanted to, but today we just stuck to the shorter walk.

There are usually a lot of fly agaric fungi up here, but quite a few had been battered by the storm. They're not very robust.

There were still a few varieties to see, though. It's a nice walk anyway as you get to chat to either local dog walkers or visitors using the campsite.

This is the sad part of the walk as trees have been cut down as they had Ash Dieback Disease, which is caused by a fungal infection. It looks quite bare at the moment. Hopefully, they can replace some trees.

Parts of the walk can be quite dark. It is too dense for the sun to creep through.

We decided to do the last part on the road to take us back to the car.

Amazing! I also liked photography very much but I'm too much busy on these day that's why a longs time I didn't go for a wild photography. Tremendous

Beautiful photos of your walk. Some part looks quite mysterious with strange vibes. Nature is bountiful so I hope new trees will grow to replace those old trees.

I hope they do as it looks a bit boring.

Sounds like a beautiful walk! I love that there are so many different varieties of fungi to see, even after the storm. It's sad to see the trees that have been affected by Ash Dieback Disease, but it's good to know that they are working to replace them.
