A Coffee Delight in Dahab
Hail to the Hive!
After a few days back on the resort ‘Stalag Happy Life Village’ we decided to escape for another venture into what is now the seaside desert town of Dahab. Our last visit was wonderful with aimless wandering coffee, cheesecake, cats, sunsets and sundowner beers. Worth another visit for sure.
Having got our bearings on our last trip we ventured in some new directions to explore further and before long found ourselves gagging for a caffeine pick me up. As I normally drink my coffee black at home for breakfast I was feeling for a treat, something different and I will usually indulge in a cappuccino when out and about.
The Italians among you may frown as it is considered a breakfast or at the very least a morning drink but I’m in Egypt and I’m not Italian. And I’m a rebel, an anarchist coffee drinker and will drink a cappuccino anytime I bloody well please 😉.
But where to stop? So many cafes to choose from and as the one above says ‘ same same but different’
We weren’t in the mood for new and shiny, cool and hipster though. We were in the mood for rustic and worn.
We poked our heads in a few and finally saw ome practically empty ( not always a good sign) biput very chill. I asked if they did cappuccino and got a yes so we went in and made ourselves comfortable.
Some of us more so than others…..
@millycf1976 clearly loving the swing chair.
It was at this point I noticed that the staff didn’t use the coffee machine behind the counter but ventured outside….. hmmmm
I then realised they must be having them made at one of the cafes next door or nearby. Maybe they were affiliated? But a little odd to be sure.
we settled down at a seafront table to enjoy the vibe and it didn’t ssem too long before the staff reappeared from wherever they had been to get the coffees and laid them out before us.
They definitely looked good.
The view looked good too.
The cat certainly thought so!
But the proof of the pudding is in the eating, or in this case the drinking and a satisfied mmmmmmm echoed around the table as we supipped away.
Another successful coffee outing. A strong yet smooth and rounded cuppa. No burnt taste or bitter aftertaste. Easy on the palet and satisfying. We all sipped and sat in silence for a while and just listened the the arabic music and gazed out over the water. Sat as we were in our coffee oasis on the shores of the sea with the Sinai desert behind us.
This is the stuff dreams are made of.

The strip seem to have a pretty unique setup in where the prepare vs serve at the restaurant itself. Good thing is that it worked and they produced some great cups:)
Nice pictures scuba, that full cup of coffee looks pretty good. & that is serious blue sky.

What a life!
Don't come back yet, it's still a bit depressing....
We're all back unfortunatly but there is always beer at the Maltings.
Those rope swing-chairs could make for a merry afternoon. Hehe
@millycf1976 looks sublimely satisfied with her cup of coffee, especially considering the view and the ambient sweet tunes wafting on the sea breeze. I think that you guys had the most amazing time in the desert 🐪☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️
My face often spoils the view so its a good job the coffee was good 😊
Hi! I love the sea but enjoying the sea next to the sunset and a cup of coffee is without a doubt paradise 💖😍 loved all the pictures 😍 Greetings!
