A new Specialty Coffee distributor came with my new espresso machine!

Becoming 35 is a very special moment in everyone’s life. You can easily tell that half of your life has passed and hopefully you have arranged your existence on earth so far. So I have easily decided to throw a big party and celebrate my success.

Coffee, being one of my greatest pleasures, has become a main part of my daily routine. Of course my friends know this so they arranged a shared present in order to buy me something bigger that I would gladly enjoy. They bought me the newest espresso machine that has been released and it really comes stuffed with the edge of available technology. It’s like the spaceship of the espresso machines!

The installation process was easy, I just had to plug it into the wall socket and it automatically connected to the internet. I thought this was all due to managing firmware updates and maybe WiFi connectivity with my mobile devise so I could easily arrange my morning shot right from the bed. Maybe I can link the machine to my wake up alarm? Yet to be researched, although my most annoying thing is to read the instructions manual.

After the installation process, all I had to do is just press one of the three buttons - “Classic”, “Rich” and “Specialty”. Of course, my choice was specialty! Pushed the button, but nothing happened… I have forgotten that the machine was empty and I didn’t have any coffee beans left at home. A few short seconds after, a flashing notification appeared on the screen.

That was nothing that I was expecting… I decided to wait a bit and see what will eventually happen.

It was less than 5 minutes later when I heard a strange noise. It was like a humming electric motor noice, but a lot stronger. It took me some time till I remembered that I have once heard this before in my life - when my alien friend and coffee lover headed back towards the stars.

Doorbell ringing…

I opened the door and saw the old fellow and he seemed so happy to see me again.

-What? What are you doing here? Weren’t you supposed to be out in the space, chasing the flashing stars from other galaxies?

-Well, you know what? After some deeper thoughts I decided to stay on earth and start a business… A coffee one. And I started working with this coffee maker company. Now I arrange urgent orders when people accidentally run out of of coffee. I think 5 minutes delivery isn’t bad at all, is it?

I smiled. Never did I expect to see this alien again in my life and here he is on my doorstep, delivering Specialty Coffee…

-Do you want Kenyan, Ethiopian or Blue Mountain coffee? I think they are the freshest available now. And if you buy 2 varieties, I’ll give you the third as a gift!

-Right, then, let’s go for the offer! Are you the only distributor for this coffee?

-Absolutely! Make sure to be short on coffee more often, so that we can meet on a regular basis.

-Of course, you have my word!

I guess from this moment on, I’ll arrange my coffee orders only that way. There’s nothing better than meeting your old friends! Especially if they are from the space…
