Seahouses Café: Coffee and Cake

During a short break in Northumberland, we stumbled upon the lovely Seahouses Café. The café was aptly named after the seaside town it's resided in, and it quickly became a favourite spot for us during our break. I think I judge a place on how good their coffee shops are. 😁

We learned that the current owners had only taken over the business from other family members just over a year ago. They did a few alterations, including a name change, and then it was good to go. The photographs on the wall reminded everyone of the charm of the local area.

After looking at the menu, we settled on a couple of hazelnut lattes, a malteser tiffin cake, and a jam sponge cake. The food was all homemade, and the cakes were generous in size, and of course, delicious.

There is also a little library in the café so you can either borrow a book or donate one. If you want to keep it, just put a donation in the box. Coffee and books definitely go together! All the donations go to the Royal National Lifeboat Institute (RNLI). They seem to be very supportive of the RNLI as they give the crew a 10% discount when using the cafe. So, it wasn't just the coffee and cakes that left a good impression on us. The staff at Seahouses Café did, too. Not only are they community minded, but they are also really warm and welcoming. The only problem was that there was no sea view. I don’t suppose you can have everything.
