Coffee, Slice of Cake and Rain

It's been a week, the city of Medan has been raining, it hasn't stopped for 1 week, even the sun is reluctant to show its light. It's been a week too, my clothes haven't dried on the clothesline, almost all of my panties and bras have been used up. Usually, I feel hot at home, of course, Indonesia has a tropical climate, this country is on the equator.

It's not usually the rain that doesn't act like this, if it's the rainy season, it's usually only a few days. The air temperature becomes lower than usual, this is very rare. There are many flood points in my city, because this area doesn't have enough channels to accommodate the rainwater that falls to the earth. In fact, I heard information that many people had to flee because their houses were flooded, especially areas close to river banks.

It's been a week since I haven't left the house, for fear that the flood will damage our motorbike engine, but I finally gave up because I'm so bored, especially the rain always makes me lazy and unproductive. Why does the rain always create an ambiance that makes me sleepy, does it only happen to me? How about you?

So, I was really really bored and almost died because of it, I looked for a place to hang out that was close to my house, hoping there was a coffee shop that was fancy enough to just kill the boredom.

I went to a coffee shop, Hazza Coffee, which is 10 minutes from my house. I went with my husband and ordered coffee and dessert, not long after that, suddenly it started raining very hard again. I ordered a cup of cold americano with chocolate cake topped with nuts. It's strange, when it's raining like this I even ordered a cup of americano with ice, but at that time I didn't like hot coffee, especially when paired with a piece of chocolate cake.

I asked the barista to brew iced americano with the best coffee they have, he offered me two types of bean that they usually use, I chose to try coffee bean that comes from the Minang area, Situjuah Gadang. There are two types, the other one comes from Tanah Toraja, but for some reason I want to try coffee beans from the Minang area, where I once studied in that area, maybe because I'm a little homesick.

A little honest review, the coffee I ordered and made into a glass of cold Americano didn't disappoint. The coffee beans they use are Situjuah Gadang with a very concentrated honey process, which has a quite unique taste. I like the taste which is naturally sweet, not like americano in general which is thick with a bitter taste, but this time, the taste is soft and unique. It has its own taste, moreover many people say that coffee that comes from the land of Minang never disappoints.

This is the first time I have been to Hazza Coffee, just had a soft opening which can be seen from the shelves displayed in front of the cashier. I know this coffee shop from social media that promotes this coffee shop from one of the influencers in my city, it turns out that the power of social media is very big, right, so it brought me to this coffee shop.
