going out in style
this is my contribution to #FungiFriday by @ewkaw
apart from enjoying nature in general my reason for walking in the forest in search of mushrooms used to be to find and gather edible species. usually though there are more species of inedible or questionable ones and some of these are genuine eyecatchers. gradually my interest became photographing and identifying as much as collecting. as my interest in mushroom photography increased i started focusing more on individual specimens and situations rather than species and identification. after spreading their spores many mushrooms wither away into unidentifiable and not particularly photogenic mush. but here are some that have gone out in style.

then there those that simply wilt and fade away

How are you, dear friend @eolianpariah2? Good day.
You have a great forest for mushroom hunting; the species you've found are truly beautiful.
Have a wonderful day.
thanks so much. there are several forests we go to but sadly a large section of the main one has been cut down for timber. it will take many years for it to recover. there won't be many fungi there but in a few years it should be a good place to pick wild raspberries. nature is powerful my friend
