6 Years On Hive!

Almost forgot it, it's my 6 year anniversary this year!

6 years not just feels like a long time, it actually is a long time to be on Hive. After all these years Hive has become a home for me. I haven't really ever done much social media before joining Hive or after, but for some reason I stuck with it. Perhaps it was the challenge to write a blog post nearly every day which kept me going, the interactions with the many great and curious people here or also the fantastic Love The Clouds Community. I am proud to say that the #lovetheclouds is one of the longest ongoing contests on Hive. I believe it started in 2018, so that would be around 5 years of weekly contests! We have always got beautiful entries and engagement here, and we always welcome new cloud lovers ❤⛅.

And perhaps it was also the much easier UX that Hive offers - it's easy to get used to a "feeless" blockchain. I honestly can't use Ethereum or other gas fee chains after having used Hive so long. 3 seoconds block time also means that we can nearly instantly make transfers which does not even compare to dinosaurs like Bitcoin. Hive also always feels like a thriving and growing place with Hivefest or the nearly weekly updates we get from the many devs working on this chain. I can't say that about (m)any other projects (although I haven't nearly spent nearly as much time on other chains with perhaps the exception of Koinos).

My blog posts now generally revolve around crypto analysis, LTC posts, Splinterlands rumblings, or the occasional insight into some things that I find important to discuss. Perhaps they are actually interesting to some and if so, I am happy to have such an audience. In the past I also had a series called the Traveling Painter which I do want to get back some time. The Social Lens series was also always fun to do. But I have been a bit busy lately.

With around 140k Hive staked, I am clearly in it for the long run. While crypto is a risk on area and Hive's future is unclear, I feel confident enough to keep powering up Hive. Luckily I do not need to sell it to pay for real world stuff, but I do it occasionally. In fact I would generally recommend selling Hive (at least some) when we go back over the $1 range. Right now that feels like a long way to go, but the past has shown that this can happen rather quickly (the chart is looking rather good for a "lift off" currently). The problem is most (like me) do not sell anything up there and then get frustrated when we head back to the 30 cent area. So $1 seems to be a good place to start selling at least a bit, to not fall back into this trap again. And luckily we have HBD that we can stake to receive 20% APR! Nothing like that exists anywhere as far as I know...

Hope to stick around for many more years to come and make more meaningful connections here! Together as a community (which we already know is our strongest asset here) I strongly believe Hive will succeed and thrive.
