Spring flowers - the only plants that survive my neglect

I mean, technically, spring has been here for a while now (according to the calendar, at least). But the weather? Ohhh no, it wasn’t on board. OF COURSE NOT. Because why should it be?

You know how it goes—you happily pack away all your winter clothes, dig out your cute spring outfits, step outside feeling fabulous, and then BAM! You’re freezing. Nothing new.

But even though the mornings are still chilly, nature doesn’t care. Spring is officially here, whether the weather agrees or not! 🌸🌿

If you look outside, you’ll see meadows full of colorful spring flowers, birds singing their little hearts out, and trees starting to bloom. But is it warm enough to sit outside in the morning and enjoy my coffee? HA. No. Do I sit outside anyway? Wrapped in five blankets, refusing to admit defeat? YES. Of course, around 11 a clock, I’m alredy sweeting, so yes. Spring is here.

And speaking of birds...I went all out this year. Bought tons of bird seeds and hung them all over my garden. My husband? NOT thrilled. Apparently, he thinks they’re pooping everywhere. Well, DUH. They’re birds. It’s not like they have a little restroom with a sign that says, "Poop here only" 😂

But hey, better on the grass than on my car, right? Maybe, just maybe, they’ll be grateful for the free food and spare my car. Or…they’ll just aim for my neighbor’s car instead. Win-win. 😏

Since I love taking pictures, I thought, "Let’s get some cool shots of these birds while they eat!" But apparently, I’m not worthy enough for them. Every time I get close, they fly away. So rude. Anyway, since the birds won’t cooperate, I decided to focus on flowers instead. And let me tell you....spring flowers do NOT disappoint!

So, let’s meet my favorite spring flowers.

Daisy – The classic cutie 🌼

The most common flower out there. They’re everywhere, and I love them! Fun fact: When I was little, my mom used to call me her daisy (now she just calls me by random animal names…not as cute 😂).

Daisies are small, with white petals and a bright yellow center. They dance in the wind and make everything look happy. Oh, and remember that childhood game, "He loves me, he loves me not"? Yeah, I’m not playing that with my husband. Imagine if the last petal says he loves me not...instant argument! "Excuse me, the daisy has spoken!" 😂

Dandelion – The underrated superstar 🌾

People see it as a weed, but dandelions are actually kinda awesome. You can eat the leaves in salads, make tea from the flowers, and even use the roasted roots as a coffee substitute! (Would I drink dandelion coffee? Probably not. But hey, survival skills!)

Do you like dandelion salad? I’ll eat it if I have to, but let’s be real—it’s no pizza.

Clover – The lucky one 🍀

Clover is that tiny plant with three leaves that nobody notices…until you find a FOUR-leaf clover! Then suddenly, it’s the best plant ever. I still love sitting in the grass and searching for them. Why? Because finding one means lifelong good luck, and who doesn’t need that?!

Also, let’s be real—it’s easier than finding a perfectly ripe avocado. 🥑😂

Periwinkle – My bestie 💜

This little flower comes in blue, purple, pink, and white. It grows everywhere and asks for nothing in return. No watering? No problem. No care at all? Still thriving. These flowers are basically my spirit plant.

Grape Hyacinth – The party flower 🍇

Tiny purple flowers that look like grapes! But instead of being a snack, they’re here to make your garden look fancy. They bloom early in spring, like little flower VIPs who show up before everyone else. I love them, even if they refuse to make grape juice. 😂

Mystery flower – Help?! 🤔

I also have this other flower growing in my garden, but I have NO idea what it is. Maybe you can help me figure it out? (Because let’s be real, Google never understands my descriptions: "Tiny purple thingy with green leaves"—yeah, super helpful.)

Why I love those flowers, you ask? Because they take care of themselves! No watering, no special care—just pure, natural beauty. Yes, spring meadow flowers are 100% my type of flowers. 😉
